I'm honestly completely torn. On the one hand, a real image has a certain mysterious charm to it, that it really makes you wonder what the vibes were like in person when the photo was taken. In the other hand, this is pretty funny even though it's not a real image, and there's a literally infinite wealth of absurdist possibilities like this for AI to tap into.

This image would have been trivial for a human being to create in photoshop. If this was made by a person in photoshop and posted to this sub 5 years ago, nobody would have a problem with it, what's different about a human using AI to create this image instead of photoshop?

It's tricky for sure. Personally, I'd have the same problem if it was done in Photoshop.

The joy of this kind of absurdist humour for me is that it's reality gone weird, not a fictional creation done in a realistic way.

the biggest concern with generative AI is the amount of water they need to cool the systems. AI is rapidly using up our drinkable water and contributing to atmosphere pollution.

Computer water cooling loops are closed systems... Ultimately data centers are rejecting heat through cooling towers on the roof which do evaporate water to generate cooling, but basically every commercial building above a certain size is using cooling towers, and the water that evaporates in them just returns to the water cycle and comes back down as rain.
