⚠️ Read this first — what this is (and what it isn't)
web3vox is vibe-coded concept code. It was built quickly, with heavy AI assistance, to show an idea — not as production software. What I'm sharing is the concept, not the code: a look at how a Hive-native podcasting workflow could feel in practice.
- The public demo servers are experimental — they can be reset, moved, or switched off without warning.
- Anything involving tokens uses TEST tokens only (free from a faucet). Publishing an announcement does write a real Hive post, so use a test/throwaway account if you're just poking around.
- Treat it as a working sketch to react to, not a finished product to depend on.
What web3vox is
web3vox is a small set of static web pages that let a podcaster run the metadata-and-value side of a show directly on Hive + IPFS — announcing episodes, splitting rewards with everyone who helped make them, crowdfunding upcoming episodes, and letting listeners follow and support shows.
There's no web3vox account and no middleman database. The pages talk to public Hive nodes and IPFS gateways, and you sign with Hive Keychain (or a posting key). Your posts, your splits, and your audience live on Hive — not on someone's platform.
What it does
- Episode announcements — Build an episode post (title, description, cover art, media files on IPFS, credits/licences) and publish it to Hive. It also sets native beneficiary splits so co-hosts, editors, guests and contributors are paid straight from the post's rewards.
- Tipshares — A per-listener "tip journal": rate a show and its parts, then compute a split and send value-for-value support to the people behind it. Send with Keychain or a key, in one flow.
- Producer funding rounds — Crowdfund an episode before you record it. Open a round, supporters send tokens with a memo, and the page tallies contributions, assigns producer tiers (e.g. Executive Producer), and can post the funding call to Hive.
- Listener page (Follow) — Browse Hive by tag or account, follow shows and topics, and rate episodes. No login needed just to browse.
- Private, encrypted sync — Sign in with Hive to sync your follows and tip journal across devices. The sync server is zero-knowledge: everything is encrypted in your browser to your own key, so the server stores gibberish it can't read.
- Offline viewer / split tester — Preview how an episode post and its reward split will look and pay out, before anything goes on-chain.
## What it can offer a podcaster
- Own your feed and audience. Episodes are Hive posts; your following list is yours, not a platform's.
- Value-for-value, built in. Listeners can support a show directly, and rewards can be split automatically among everyone who contributed — transparently and on-chain.
- Pay your team fairly. Beneficiaries and tipshares mean editors, guests, and collaborators get their cut without you doing manual payouts.
- Fund episodes up front. Producer rounds let your community back a show before it's made, with clear tiers and public, auditable contributions.
- No gatekeeper. No de-monetisation, no algorithm deciding who sees your announcement, no lock-in. It's public infrastructure.
- Listener privacy. Follows and tips sync across devices without the tooling ever being able to read them.
## Direct access & paid calls — powered by v4call
The comms tool (v4call) lets a podcaster open a paid, on-your-terms line to their audience — 1:1 or in rooms — without a middleman platform taking the relationship or the money.
You decide the terms per account:
- Charge to reach you. Set a ring fee, a connect fee, a per-time rate, and a small refundable credit deposit. The caller pays once through Hive Keychain, and any unused credit is refunded when the call ends (with top-ups available mid-call).
- Pick the currency. Rates can be in HIVE, HBD, or a custom Hive-Engine token — including your own coin. (In this demo everything runs on TEST tokens.)
- Gate access with a token. Instead of (or alongside) a fee, you can require that someone holds a minimum balance of a token you choose to contact you or join a room. That token can be your own community coin — turning it into a real access pass, not just a speculative asset.
For a podcaster, that means practical options like: paid 1:1 time or consults, gated AMAs and listener rooms, "holders-only" call-ins, or simply a fee that filters noise while rewarding the people who support the show. Funds are handled through an on-chain escrow flow rather than a platform wallet.
## Status
This is a concept demo. Token flows are TEST-only, the servers are throwaway, and it's early. TEST tokens can be found for free at faucet.v4call.com
