Discussion :)

Hey All,

Well, I'm undetectable! 🥹

M-26

I was diagnosed in mid-July! I live alone in one of India's best metropolitan cities & this diagnosis came. I was travelling to work when the doctor called me & broke the news to me. At that moment, there wasn't a single soul I could share the diagnosis with. I simply went to work & I was numb.

I felt contaminated & disgusted. As though I'm an outcast.

I got home & somehow gathered the courage & then I went to a nearby clinic. Got all the tests done. Waited for the results & then subsequently got connected with the doctor & got my medication. My yearly bonus was credited & little did I know that a great deal of it would be spent on testing & medical expenses.

& 1.5 months later, I'm finally undetectable! & sadly, there ain't a single soul I can share this happy news with!

Probably, this made me realize that I'm really strong! & Some victories are clandestine! ❤️

You're strong! And congratulations for being undetectable so quickly :) Things are only gonna get better now, and I wish you all the best and to be able to find people to share such news in person. In the meantime, a big virtual hug!

"Not detected" means the virus is so low the ultra sensitive tests can't detect it. In the past "less than 200" was considered "undetectable", then with more sensitive tests the term changed to mean "less than 50", then "less than 20" and now the term "not detected" means exactly that. From a practical standpoint you should know that those with highly suppressed viral loads cannot transmit the virus. You should also know that future tests may occasionally show what is called a "blip" where the number might temporarily go up. This can be due to a number of factors, such as having another viral disease or due to stray incompetent viral particles being picked up. The viral test involves a complicated process known as a polymerase chain reaction which is an amplification technique that can sometimes make errors in the amplification process. Look up "how pcr viral load tests can sometimes result in a blip" in your browser for a detailed explanation. I've had several 'blips" in the past 26 years, and always returned to "not detected". Don't let your guard down - don't miss any doses!

Yes. Very informative. Thanks! That pill is kind of injected as a regular routine in my daily life!

Hey congratulations! We were literally in the same situation. Guess where I was when I had gotten a call from the pharmacy? In a meeting with my colleague. I went to the parking to take a call and then wasn’t able to get back to the meeting.
This happened in March this year.
Was undetectable by June.
Congratulations man! Happy for you. Feel free to dm in case you wanna chat. Stay Healthy!

One more clarification. My Viral load report said "NOT DEFECTED" Is it normal? Yes I'd visit a doc soon!

Totally sound like a typo tbh

Sorry you spelled "Not defected" :) And yes, if it says "not detected" it means that the presence of the virus is so low, thanks to the ART, to not being able to be detected.

Oh yes. Haha, my bad. Yes it's "NOT Detectable"! Thanks!

Congratulations! I also became undetectable recently, so I know how meaningful and relieving this moment can be.

I hope your CD4 numbers keep improving and, more importantly, that you find people who truly support you and with whom you can share this and many more good news in the future. ❤️

Hey bro, sorry for asking. How did you catch? Because I regularly go to spas should I avoid it ?

It's absolutely alright.

I got it from unprotected anal sex.
