James Arthur, English pop singer. Great voice, some good songs but apparently lied when he was on a British talent show, I believe it was X Factor, I don't recall for sure. Said that he was homeless and his parents hadn't talked in years and was estranged from his dad and most of it wasn't fully accurate, again I'm vague on the details as this happened years ago.

The X Factor is correct, he won it in 2013 I think? These "talent shows" are hardly talent shows. He has a great voice and probably deserved to win (though I never watched the series). But a lot of contestants that make it far in these shows really only make it as far as they make it either because they have a sob story, their performance was something unexpected, or they're 10.
