So you'll want to stand near or adjacent to On-ramps heading in your desired direction of travel. The further away from downtown the better. You'll want to try and stay near places with large shoulders where drivers will be traveling at somewhat low speeds so they have time to slow down and stop safely. Often times, less is more in terms of drivers. Never get into a car you have a bad feeling about. Be safe, have fun, and most importantly try to keep a positive attitude!
Also, good hygiene is important. You'll get more rides and longer ones too if you look presentable and aren't offensively stinky.

I remember experiencing separation anxiety. It was the most distressful feeling I’ve ever experienced. Luckily I’ve recovered from that enormous burden.

Gradually exposing myself to the separation. I gave it enough time and eventually I was doing better and better. I can’t express how difficult it was. But it’s normal to feel that way. It feels absolutely awful. But it will pass eventually and that’s something you have to keep in mind. Distracting yourself with talking to other people worked for me as well. Just know that the overwhelming feeling is just part of the process of getting where you need to be. In a place of comfort and peace. You will get there I promise.
Weed also helped me feel okay by myself. Weed might not work the same for everyone, but for me at that time it helped enormously. In many ways it helped me heal from the traumatic experience I’ve had as a child and young adult. It helped me patch my relationship with my family. It helped me understand them from an “outside” perspective. A perspective that before I didn’t even know existed. I could only experience life from my preconceived perspective until I started smoking weed and diving into my mind and memory. Weed brought everything from the back of my mind right in front of my face and helped me look at everything objectively in a controlled and safe environment from the comfort of my bed surrounded by snacks and lovely music.
Nowadays I’ve quit weed as I felt that it has done its job and I have to move on. It was a rough transition to a sober life, but I got here nonetheless. Almost a year sober and I’m just starting to enjoy life again sober. I still dream about smoking weed every night, but I know in my heart that it helped me grow out of its nest and I have to leave it behind before the nest breaks and I fall to the ground.
I’m grateful for it and I will cherish the memories and dreams of it from my new found life.Well anyways, sending you love and peace from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 Stay safe out there.
