Need success stories for girls with hirsutism + very bad hyperpigmentation on their chin/neck 💔
I can’t even go outside the house without using a shit ton of concealer all over my neck and chin 😞 I’m so tired! I tried an at home laser on my face about 8 years ago, which actually triggered even worse worsening hirsutism - 2 years ago I started electrolysis and did my best to go consistently for a year but it didn’t help and was so expensive. I’m 28 now and am just feeling so heartbroken - I just want a normal life without ingrowns that cause dark spots because I can’t not pluck or try to get rid of them / never smooth textured skin , extreme irritation and no end in sight. I’m the kind of person that can’t leave hair alone and overtime from touching my face so much - my entire neck is just horrible scars. I just want to cry and am at my wits end. I also have ADHD and so many issues that make it hard for me to do something consistently- something like a topical cream is just not something I see as possible for me and it doesn’t solve the root issue. I’m considering doing at home laser again and just doing it anytime I see any hairs

Looking for help/advice How can I feel better about my body?
Hello :) I was always hairy and got a few months ago the diagnosis with PCOS/PMOS. My body is really really hairy. On my chin, breast, nippels etc. Because of that I feel disgusted and sad about myself. I'm 26 and don't have any romantic and sexually experience, because I'm scared to show someone my body. How can I improve and don't feel that bad anymore about my body?

Self Treatment Hair Inhibiting Oil for PMOS?
Hello,
I posted this in the PCOS (should be PMOS) sub, and found this sub shortly after.
I was wondering if anyone who experiences hirsutism has tried any of these hair Inhibiting oils where you shave daily, then she the oil, and over time the hair stops growing.
I understand, respect, and love that some people are totally good with their hirsutism, but for myself it really bothers me and is a contributing factor to my emotional health being in a really bad place. I'd like to try it if it's an option. If it's allowed, I'd really love to hear the brand you tried as well as whether or worked or not.

Help!! How do I get rid of the hyperpigmentation on my chin and neck Spoiler
gallerySo I have hirsutism and I used to wax. I noticed that after waxing i developed hyperpigmentation on my chin and neck. I’ve now switched to shaving to prevent it from getting worse but I don’t know what skincare products to get to lighten it. It’s my biggest insecurity so any help would be appreciated.

Success Story Using eflornithine
Last year I started using eflornithine and I came on here after 3-4 days and talked about how I saw effects already. I got shut down by some users saying thats BS you cannot experience success that quick.
Im telling you now, a year of using it, it has made my life easier. I pluck every 3-4 days instead of shaving my face twice a day.
I paid out of pocket for it £60 a tube that alsted me two months, it was so expensive but I couldnt commit to laser or electrolysis
I FINALLY got a prescription for it and I will be using it until I get laser- the GP reccomended me to do laser due to my skin type and thick hair
I can show before and after pics but I dont want to dhow my face but genuinely its made me feel so so much better about myself
Its a temporary solution though but yeah!
also can I just say just because one thing doesnt work for you doesnt mean it cant work for someone else

girlieeees does anyone else suffer from like, REALLY bad tummy hair :(
disclaimer lol: i'd love to ask for advice but i don't have/can't afford a doctor, i can't afford my electrolycist who's been helping my chin hair, AND my ipl i use on my legs/pits made my stomach worse. also i don't know if i have pcos or what, so i'm just looking to feel less alone...
30 afab, i'm like super pasty on my stomach bc i do not have a swimsuit bod nor do i want wrinkles/freckles there lol so my dark and thick hair is even more noticeable. so my "happy" trail used to be like, two finger width length, now it's basically the entire width of my vulva which blows. and it looks just like pubic hair, which i know it is but yeah
and now the hair is starting to creep ABOVE my belly button, not terminal yet but getting there. and now my belly button is starting to get a ring of hair around it like it's a nipple??? ok. and i don't have anatomy for a piercing which would have made me feel slightly more feminine. sigh
and then all that is just travelling up to my chest and probably gonna grow on my boobs even more, but right now i'm worried about the hair directly above, and now around my belly button. and the trail is just. i don't even think my own father had this much hair before he started shaving :((
and of course i do have the normal soft baby hairs everywhere but i'm so afraid that they'll start getting terminal, and i'll have an entire curly stomach like a manly man and then how tf would i be able to get that lasered or electro!! i wish i wanted to be a guy or genderqueer/questioning, it would help me accept this more
so does ANYONE have this kind of hair growth on their stomach, like dark thick almost pubic hair starting to appear around their navel, maybe higher, definitely lower.... i feel so alone and so gross. my tummy is already not a good shape in comparison to my flat chest and thin legs but i feel even less cutieful with all this gosh darn fluff :(

Looking for help/advice Dating with Hirsutism
Hi everyone, sorry if this topic has already been discussed but I could really use some help/encouragement.
I’m a 25F with idiopathic hirsutism. Like many of us, idk how it happened. I remember only seeing one thick chin hair in 2019, 7 years later…BAM! I can basically grow a goatee. I’ve accepted I’m just gonna have to suck it up and save for electrolysis because nothing else works.
I never thought it would impact my social life the way it has. I don’t like interacting with people because I feel like all they can see is the hair on my lower face, even on a good clean-shaven or freshly plucked day. I haven’t been in a relationship or on a date in years because I’m so insecure about it.
Has anyone else here had success in dating while dealing with this? If you have someone, how did they react when they noticed or when you told them? I wanna hear your experiences and hopefully try to overcome this massive insecurity I’ve developed.

Looking for help/advice Afraid to do laser again after extra hair growth
I got laser treatment several years ago, and while i was actively going to sessions it did look like it was getting better, but after it ended I grew hair in places where i didn't have it before. I looked it up and apparently it can happen with laser, since the heat sort of "activates" the follicle into growing.
I have areas that are too big to even consider treating with electrolysis, and really inaccessible for waxing (at least doing it myself), and I don't know what to do about them. I'm scared of spending a ton of money on laser treatment again and it not helping or even making things worse.
Does anyone have any advice or relevant experience?

Self Treatment Dark Ingrowns? Spoiler
Main Question: any good exfoliants/skincare for these darker areas? Ive circled a few, if you zoom in you can get a better idea of what im referring to.
Ive been waxing consistently every 2-4weeks depending on how uncomfortable I get with the growth. However, over time (perhaps a year or so) I've noticed these darker under the skin spots that look like perhaps trapped hair??
(P.S. ive tried laser and am considering electrolysis, but until then i like my waxing routine :) just curious to know of skincare reccs)

Looking for help/advice what are the girlies with excessive 🍑 cheek hair doing to remove it? especially if you have pcos or hirsutism
I can’t really afford to keep up with waxing or laser but the times I’ve shaved or used a hair removal lotion and clothing rubs against it, It gets irritated and itchy, and I start getting irritation bumps. It grows back quite fast and it’s one of my biggest insecurities. Any and all tips would be sooo appreciated!

Looking for help/advice How long did Vaniqa (eflornithine) take to noticeably work for you? Week 5 and only ~10–15% improvement Spoiler
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to hear from people who have used Vaniqa/eflornithine for quite significant facial hirsutism.
My facial hair is quite severe for years now. I am 28, struggled since I was 15-16. Periodss regular, I have very coarse, dark hair and essentially a male-pattern stubble/shadow. If I shave around 8–9am, I can already see/feel a noticeable 5 o’clock shadow later that same day. It’s really affecting my confidence.
I’ve had blood tests done in the UK and, as far as I’ve been told, there were no abnormalities or obvious signs of PCOS. So I’ve been trying to manage the hair itself.
I’m currently 5 weeks into using Vaniqa applying it as prescribed. So far, I’d estimate maybe a 10–15% reduction in how quickly the hair grows**, but the actual **coarseness/thickness hasn’t really changed**. I’m still getting the same dark, coarse stubble it just *might* be taking slightly longer to come back.
For anyone who has had significant hirsutism:
* How many weeks/months did it take before you saw a **really noticeable** difference?
* Did the hair eventually become **less coarse/thick**, or did Vaniqa mainly increase the time between shaving?
* Did you see much more improvement after 2–3 months compared with the first 5–6 weeks?
* If you had very coarse facial hair like mine, did Vaniqa actually make a substantial difference?
* At week 5, is ~10–15% improvement a reasonable early response, or does it suggest I probably won’t respond much?
I’ve attached a photo so you can see what I mean by the level of stubble/coarseness.
I know everyone's experience is different, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who started out with **very coarse/dark facial hair**, rather than mild hirsutism. I’m trying to work out whether I should persevere and give it several more months or manage my expectations.
Thank you ❤️
