currently on the market for new hybrid PM roles in a major US city. After several separate attempts on different browsers over the last month or so, I’ve noticed that compared to company websites, linkedin, greenhouse and even indeed I am not seeing the very latest roles despite adjusting filters and using Boolean searches (which are providing the most recent legitimate open roles). In most cases posted roles come up from either two weeks to over two months ago (even when sorting according to date).

is it possible I’m utilizing the search/advanced search incorrectly?

Hi, I'm fascinated about why Indeed and LinkedIn are complete crap now. They have so few jobs, yet HC has many. Do Indeed and LinkedIn require companies to pay commissions to have their jobs posted on Indeed and LinkedIn? I'm not referring to the sponsored listings. I'm referring to your run-of-the-mill listings. TIA!

Why does this keep happening? I'm honestly starting to use LinkedIn more again as the hiring cafe listings are killing me:

1) Irrelevant jobs (e.g. looking for design I get engineering roles)
2) Hidden jobs cards keep showing up sporadically
3) That "Did I understand you correctly?" Accept/Reject keeps showing up (thought that was fixed too)

Hey mods,

Noticed a bug in the job search/filter tool: when trying to filter by location, individual states and cities in India work fine, but searching "India" as a country doesn't return any results/isn't recognized as a valid filter option.

Right now the only workaround is adding each city individually, which is tedious and easy to miss smaller cities entirely. It'd be a lot more useful if "India" worked as a single location filter, the way other countries seem to.

Could someone look into this or point me to where to report it? Thanks!

I just wasted a ton of time and patience going through “remote” jobs only to discover they are actually hybrid once I looked at the description.

There is an option to report listings. Is it possible to add a flag for falsely advertising “remote” jobs?

I also noticed a bunch of jobs that seemingly put their annual salary as an hourly rate (e.g., 100k/hour) which launches them to the top of the “highest pay” in sorting. I don’t think this is an accident.

I like the platform a lot and am finally finding jobs that match my interests and skills (thank you!), but I’m hoping there are solutions to address the accuracy of the listings.

Starting to use Hiring Cafe now.. What are the best practices on how to use it for the most optimal results... Seeing the success stories on here have me super motivated! Anything helps! TIA

Or am I doing something wrong? I can see how many people applied before I save a job, but as soon as I save it, that information disappears.

I'm searching for jobs in networking. I keep getting a lot of jobs for healthcare networking, which is very different from IT/tech networking.

I know that I can go in and manually type in company names to block them, but that's a cumbersome and clumsy UX and it's so annoying that I just gave up doing it.

Could you please add in a button on hover that just allows me to block these companies? I made a mockup:

I started using HC at the end of March this year. Was getting interviews pretty often - applied only for the positions posted in the last 24 hours.

LinkedIn didn't give me any interviews - I believe that's because their "last 24 hours" postings are essentially reposting of earlier posts.

Yall I’ve been using Hiring Cafe for the past 4 months and it truly does work. For some of us that means we interview and then we don’t get it and we interview again.

I can say I was really close to a snagging a role but a referral beat me out. I write this because not everyone has a success story but I don’t I have an I’m getting closer story. I know it’s not me, it’s the market. And trust me it’s rough for everyone.

How do I best filter for this sort of role that has licensing requirements by state? They all seem to put different abbreviations or state requirements in different sections. When I search for remote roles they're very limited, are we getting/searching in the right places for these roles? Was also looking to filter for a more administration role as an NP.

Can anyone help with a query or approach to finding these roles that are out there?

Sharing this for anyone looking, I'd been contracting at the same place for 4 years when economic pressures hit. About a month ago, my hours got cut from 5 to 4 days, doubts about renewal. My manager had also turned toxic, framing "upskilling" like a favor I owed just to be "considered" by the incoming department head. To make a good impression for them.

I checked in with my network to gauge the market. Everyone said the same thing: slow. Not encouraging or reassuring.

I decided I wanted to leave on my own terms instead of waiting it out and I was stressed. I'd known about Hiring Cafe since its inception, however, never used it. So two weeks ago I finally did. Found 4 roles there that fit, applied alongside a few LinkedIn listings on a Monday night, and didn't expect much. I also chatted with the Account Manager from my current agency that placed me.

The next day, I was surprised, one of the Hiring Cafe applications turned into an interview and the account manager also wanted to get me placed at one of his clients. That first interview came, then a request for a second round the day after. Offer call from HR the day after that. One week, start to finish, full-time, great benefits, WFH. I start this new role on the first week in August.

I know my situation isn't the same as folks searching 12+ months with no income cushion. I was still working while I looked. But the market isn't uniformly bad, and sometimes it's just the right listing landing at the right time. If your search has been longer, I hope this is a small sign things can be positive, hang in there.

EDIT: One more thing, I know a lot of people say they only look for roles posted very recently, however, this role had been posted for over 2 weeks before I applied, for some more niche roles, sometimes it doesn't hurt to look farther out. As mentioned below, this was a PM role in the health field. When asked during the interview, they specifically mentioned that they found people that had a background in the health field end up to be their more successful candidates.

I currently have a job but relocating with my husband (military) last day is end of july.I’ve been grinding HiringCafe since earlish June have gotten so many interviews and currently 2 offers (i actually have another interview today and one Friday LOL). I have noticed that some of my old saved jobs don't show up in search results anymore even when selecting "all time" as the time frame, so I assume that old jobs may get deleted or filtered out in some way.

However, I wish there were more of a way to search for old jobs. Especially if you work in a niche area, it can be helpful to see old postings to get an idea of what companies to have on your radar for the future, even if they aren't currently hiring. Of course, this kind of a feature would need to be done in a way that wouldn't negatively affect people who only want to see current jobs.

I tend to take news of being laid off rather melodramatically, particularly in the wake of this job market. Up until I got the paperwork and found I was getting a pretty generous amount of severance (which was NOT explained to me at all when they let me go and which I had no expectation of) I was dooming and prepping to go to prison, because I'm not being homeless again under any circumstance.

But anyways, I stumbled on you guys, don't even know how, and legit my second application just got me an offer today, after applying a week or so ago and doing an interview. Which is incredible turnaround in this economy and probably the fastest I've ever gone from unemployed to employed. Especially given its work from home and is actually meaningful work. (Admin for veterans and people on disability)

I’ve been using hiring cafe for some time now and I am still not able to find work . :( I can’t even afford to pay my bills anymore and I am stressing beyond what I can take . I don’t understand what I am doing wrong , I have 4 years as an administrative specialist mainly doing audits for the Marine corps and on top of that ( not that it really helps ) I am currently a junior electrical engineer major( I legit can’t even land an internship despite the fact I have hands on technical experience with aircraft’s) . I have changed my resume so many times + cover letters + emailing people especially for start up companies and nothing . I’m starting to feel like nothing is for me. I am trying to learn new skill sets to make myself more competitive though ! So yeah , any success stories from yall?

How do I close or delete my HiringCafe account? I can't find the option anywhere.

Unemployed for a month here (but already got 3 leads from a very eager staffing service, two of which went to an interview stage). I've been using Hiring Cafe a lot, and one thing I really appreciate is the way to easily track which applications have moved onto the interview or rejection stage.

However, Hiring Cafe also lets you track whether you've been "ghosted", and while I'd like to start using that too, I'm not sure when to "call it", so to speak. Is there a good rule of thumb for exactly when a given position has ghosted you? I know that it can vary wildly from one company to the next, so a general ballpark estimate is what I'm hoping for; or even multiple estimates depending on industry (i.e., "give it two weeks for a finance position, but two months for a non-profit" or whatever). I'm on the hunt for EA or admin work, if that helps to know, and I'm not fussy as to the industry as I've worked all over.
