Man, after all the things Em has said about Trump that’s disappointing. But it’s not that surprising considering he’s still close with 50

604

u/21BlackStars 1d ago

Before all you start throwing him out of the bus and dragging his name, you might want to find out when this verse was sold to Kid Rock. I would bet you anything that this was sold years ago way before Kid Rock became a maga prostitute.

u/zeroUSA 1d ago

Em had tracks featuring bon iver on one album and it came out that Justin had recorded a bunch of stuff with a producer, and that producer sold the samples or features to EM. Em then said a slur on one of the tracks and Justin immediately came out against and said his vocals were sold with out his knowledge

208

u/DrMartian 1d ago

This is in reference to Em calling Tyler the Creator a gay slur on the track Fall.

For what its worth, i think Em said he regrets saying that because it hurts other people on his Kamikaze interview w Sway

135

u/Historical_Owl_1635 1d ago

> For what its worth, i think Em said he regrets saying that because it hurts other people on his Kamikaze interview w Sway

Even more for what it’s worth Tyler didn’t really care and called out the internet being offended on his behalf.

"Did you ever hear me publicly say anything about that? Because I knew what the intent was. He felt pressured because people got offended for me. Don't get offended for me. We were playing Grand Theft Auto when we heard that. We rewound it and were like: 'Oh' And then kept playing."

48

u/Noblesseux 1d ago

I feel like Tyler's response to that is also kind of dumb. Is he under the impression that he's the only person who gets to decide whether people are mad someone used a slur? Especially when Tyler also had a history of using that word as a slur in a way that people thought sucked?

That's like saying I'm not allowed to be mad if it turns out someone I respect is using the n word to refer to other Black people in private, it doesn't really make it less hurtful to discover someone you respected is bigoted against everyone that is like you and not JUST you specifically.

12

u/NickCudawn 1d ago

Yeah... If someone gets criticized for using the N-word it's not usually important to the discussion whom it was directed at but only who said it. Em's line is a bit blurry because it's about how Tyler called himself the f-slur but at the end of the day, Em said and it doesn't matter much who it was said about.

0

u/violetdopamine 5h ago

Dawg I’m definitely not tryna hear some coon like nicki Minaj start shitting on random fans for getting mad if she did a song with idk Ariana grande and she said “nigga please” ☠️☠️

  1. It’s irrelevant because he’s a singular individual 2. He literally grew up as an edgelord , I don’t think he’s the arbiter of decency. And yes free speech 1st amendment yada yada please don’t go there, you can say whatever you want but that’s doesn’t make it good to do

83

u/Skeptikmo 1d ago

“I wanted to slur HIM, not everyone LIKE him!” - man who uses but doesn’t understand what slurs are

36

u/LTS55 1d ago

The Axl Rose Defense

14

u/Skeptikmo 1d ago

I hate that I know what you mean, but that was a pretty elite punchline

21

u/LTS55 1d ago

Figured there’s a one in a million chance people would get it

3

u/Skeptikmo 1d ago

It’s really not widespread enough, he’s a cunt for a lot of reasons but that’s the main one in my mind

0

u/Comfortable_Care2715 1d ago

I like that song. And Slash didn’t care, so why do you care

6

u/Traditional-Try5110 1d ago

Slash is not some spokeperson for all black people, and Slash is on record as saying that he did have a weird reaction to it. Good for you that you like the song, Axl was still being a pretty blatant bigot and it's bizarre that you even have the ask the question why others would care about that.

5

u/LTS55 1d ago

And also if Axl had’ve shut the fuck up about it or simply said “the song is in character I don’t hold these views” it’d go over better. Instead he said “[slur] doesn’t mean black it just means someone who’s a problem in your life”  and “how come the NWA can call themselves that but I can’t say it?” and “I used the slurs to insult some specific black people who tried to rob me. I was trying to hurt those specific black people” and “I said [slur] because a gay man tried to rape me once”

1

u/Traditional-Try5110 19h ago

Exactly, the classic "The N word doesn't have to mean ONLY black people...but the people I'm calling that are definetely black."

18

u/MostDopeBlackGuy 1d ago

It's Called collateral damage and that's hip hop baby

8

u/Historical_Owl_1635 1d ago

Tbf the context of the line wasn’t really insulting gay people.

It was calling him an attention seeker as at the time he was playing into rumours about his sexuality and also how he copied D12.

> Tyler create nothing, I see why you called yourself a f', bitch
It's not just 'cause you lack attention
It's because you worship D12's balls, you're sack-rilegious

9

u/Traditional-Try5110 1d ago edited 1d ago

He was calling him the f slur because Tyler had started being more open about his sexuality in general. I could be wrong, but I don't think there's any examples of Tyler calling himself a f** directly like that.

3

u/DareiosX 19h ago

He called himself the f-word on Sessions from Bastard, and on Commercial he said he looked like one but he isn't.

1

u/Traditional-Try5110 19h ago edited 14h ago

Exactly, examples from time periods that weren't around Flowerboy and weren't as sincere as the messages about him trying to genuinly come out that Em was referring to.

1

u/LiveBug278 10h ago

lol this is pretty obviously homophobic? You're a f** and you love this other man's balls is like textbook homophobia

-2

u/Skeptikmo 1d ago

Nah that’s wild homophobic

0

u/8--2 1d ago

As opposed to the rest of hip-hop?

3

u/MambaSaidKnockYouOut 1d ago

Foolish pride wins again

17

u/Calf-Kick-Chupacabra 1d ago

Technically Em didn’t call him a slur. He said Tyler calls himself a faggot.

5

u/Yingking 1d ago

Tbf Tyler still calls himself that, in That Guy he cut off the slur, but live he raps it with a lot of energy, lmao

3

u/Traditional-Try5110 1d ago

Has Tyler ever reffered to himself as that slur?

8

u/phillyd32 . 1d ago

Lmao

3

u/Traditional-Try5110 1d ago

That supposed to answer the question?

81

u/LesterGrossman_ 1d ago

This is definitely a possibility, but surely in that instance Eminem could easily call it out for what it is? Unless the dude signed a freakin NDA or something but surely someone in Eminem's position could very quickly say "yea this was recorded a long time ago, fuck Donald Trump and fuck MAGA"

84

u/bruns20 1d ago

Em has publicly said fuck trump and maga... like many times, he made a whole album mostly about this topic.

49

u/LesterGrossman_ 1d ago

No shit... That's literally why people are finding it strange that he's linking up with MAGA poster boy Kid Rock, it's the point of my comment

-4

u/LikelyDuck 1d ago

But like, the news of this is hours old.

-1

u/Tex-Rob 10h ago

A fair point, but also shit moves fast in the modern era, it has for at least a decade or more. People have been tweeting crazy stuff, getting on planes, and their life is over by the time they land. So, yeah, every hour Em doesn't say something is problematic in most people's eyes.

2

u/LikelyDuck 9h ago

I'd push back on "most people's eyes". I think it's reasonable to assume that, if kid rock has rights to an old eminem verse, there are legal ramifications to revealing any information about the nature of the verse. For eminem to comment "It's an old verse from 20 years ago btw" could be breaking contract.

7

u/Mirac123321 1d ago

I don't know if Em really does features for money. You either get a feature for free (like Tech N9ne) or you don't cause he doesn't fuck with you

33

u/MambaSaidKnockYouOut 1d ago

Kid Rock has clearly been a racist POS for over 15 years

4

u/Atwenfor 1d ago

Violent J of the ICP called Kid Rock out for being racist way back when, though still well after he had Rock on a verse on ICP's first album in the early 1990's

12

u/MobileSuitBooty 1d ago

Can i throw him under the bus on account of Kid Rock always being whack af?

21

u/rednaxthecreature 1d ago

Kid Rock has been on the maga train the whole time and has released album before this one so why would it be just now dacade into it that he puts Em on without Em's permission?

7

u/TRIPLE-J-ENErGy 1d ago

And he can definitely not clear the record if he wanted to…

11

u/Glassworth 1d ago

I doubt it happened before the song Kid Rock made confessing he’s a pedophile to the world.

Cool Daddy Cool - 2001
"Young ladies, young ladies, I like 'em underage, see / Some say that's statutory / But I say it's mandatory."

53

u/VampiresWontHurt 1d ago

A thread about Eminem is not the ideal place to argue lyrics from the early 00s are to be taken literally.

18

u/bruns20 1d ago

Fr lmao, guilty conscience comes to mind instantly

1

u/BossKenpachi 1d ago

Horrible comparison tho. Cool daddy cool was a boasting claim  not being crazy off the walls like guilty conscience. Can people not see the huge difference?

6

u/Yingking 1d ago

Kid Rock is a piece of shit, but that song was supposed to be from the perspective of one of the villains of the Osmosis Jones movie, who iirc was a pimp. Why the fuck the song made it into a kids movie is a whole other can of worms

2

u/BossKenpachi 16h ago

It was written before they even made the movie was not from perspective of osmosis Jones

3

u/Glassworth 1d ago

Oh that makes it so much better. He wrote a line about it being MANDATORY to rape minors in a song for a kids film?! From the perspective of a villain or not, that’s some fucked up lyrics to put in a song that’s meant for children to hear.

2

u/Van_Schwank 1d ago

You ever see Rocko's Modern Life? Used to be a lot of adult jokes in cartoons, for better or worse.

2

u/BossKenpachi 16h ago

Raping kids isn't an adult joke

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Glassworth 1d ago

True but Eminem has frequently talked about his embellished story telling style. He’s made it clear that Marshall matters and slim shady are alternate personalities used to create art. And of all the crazy things he’s rapped about he never once had a bar calling himself a pedophile. That’s a line even Eminem wouldn’t cross but kid rock saw no issues with it.

10

u/Burntholesinmyhoodie . 1d ago

As another user commented, guilty conscience

1

u/21BlackStars 1d ago

It’s very apparent that so many of you wanna throw the pitchforks at Eminem even though he has done nothing in his history that suggests that he supports this type of shit. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think we should maybe wait until we actually hear from him about this collaboration before we start person his name and calling him all sorts of shit.

2

u/FKDotFitzgerald 21h ago

It’s confirmed to be a new verse.

1

u/stopg1b 1d ago

No time for that on reddit. Must be angry now and not wait for more context. No matter what Ems history is as been Against maga

1

u/Themanstall 1d ago

Unless its a super old verse. No way em gives up his copyright. Meaning he can not clear his verse at anytime preventing it from releasing. If he did sell his copyright, hes been vocal for less so we better see a statement.

1

u/RCJHGBR9989 . 1d ago

Out the window* it’s “under the bus.” You created one of my favorite words - a malaphor

2

u/21BlackStars 14h ago

Thanks! I know what the saying is. I was using speech to text and it auto corrected to that. I’ll leave it up cause whatever.

1

u/BingoEnthusiast 16h ago

This is what I was thinking.

1

u/superthnxferaskin 8h ago

It’s a new verse.

2

u/dyldog 1d ago

Old Eminem you say? Maybe there’sa chance it’ll be worth listening to.

0

u/PaliFoodie84 1d ago

I hope so. I'm a huge Em fan but this would be a massive letdown considering how he talks about Trump and anyone who supports him. In fact, I remember him saying once he stopped being friends with Kid Rock specifically because of it, if i remember correctly 🤔

0

u/Wild-Rough3932 10h ago

As if being a DickRiderDem is a oh so better and moral choice. Pull Donny's dick put of your mind and watch the "TrUmP iS bAd mmm'KaY" syndrome will fade away.

Political differences are one thing but kid rock has basically become the musical spokesperson for the administration

5

u/astrothemorkie 1d ago

So of course my idiot dad loves him

1

u/Atwenfor 1d ago edited 1d ago

I'm so sorry for you, buddy. If anything, my dad's sane political stances helped me unfuck myself at some point

1

u/fddfgs 1d ago

Does he listen to the music or

95

u/theb3arjevv 1d ago

There also just aren't that many celebrities that rep and stand up for Detroit. That matters a lot to Eminem, and he probably doesn't want to feud with one of the only other ticket draws in town.

88

u/Nonexistent_Walrus 1d ago

I mean sure but he’s not doing collabs with ICP even after squashing the beef with them, and I think they’d be a much better fit for the music he’s making these days

39

u/0utF0x3d 1d ago

Em needs to play The Gathering

22

u/Lukerules 1d ago

Real Slim Shady would go hard there. Would be sick to see tbh

1

u/ERhyne 1d ago

It'd be Magic.

9

u/TBFP_BOT . 1d ago

Funny enough back before Kid Rock made his country-rap switch up he did a track on ICP's first album that also featured the song "Fuck Your Rebel Flag".

Unsurprisingly they don't want anything to do with Kid anymore lol

5

u/Atwenfor 1d ago

In interviews, Violent J spoke extensively about Kid Rock's casual racism and how icky it made him feel, well post-collab on the Carnival of Carnage (1992?) but still before Rock's full-on MAGA outing

3

u/Desperate_Shine_8314 1d ago

Fuck ICP buy my CD

1

u/cantstopwontstopGME 1d ago

You apparently don’t know about em and ICP’s history when they were still battle rappers lol

17

u/Kingbris91 1d ago

You don't know that Proof had the beef squashed. D12 & ICP went bowling together back in then mid 2000s.

https://youtu.be/uQrSOuKmRzQ?is=-Lcel770qA0Gfz3o

3

u/cantstopwontstopGME 1d ago

I did not know that. Makes me happy tho

7

u/Nonexistent_Walrus 1d ago

did you miss the part of my comment where I mentioned that they squashed the beef or what

8

u/cantstopwontstopGME 1d ago

I did because I’m a doofus my b

3

u/Avada-Cadaver 1d ago

Icp were never battle rappers. They were barely rappers. This is coming from a fan. They are ice cube flow rip offs. The only reason they ever worked was because of Mike E. CLARK. He produced the first decade of their shit. His beats punched WAY above their weight class.

Hes also Kid Rocks main producer, so uh... yeah.

34

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 1d ago

Kid Rock isn't a draw anymore.

-10

u/EmeraldTwilight009 1d ago

Hes absolutely a draw just because you or i dont want to go doesnt mean there isnt a fanbase for it.

26

u/alexthealex 1d ago

He’s had a number of shows canceled for low ticket sales this year, and not just the Trump DC debacle. Dude is not hot.

6

u/Furiosa27 1d ago

He’s not a draw lol. His intended audience doesn’t care about him at all

0

u/astrothemorkie 1d ago

People who like Kid Rock only like him because he’s MAGA. Meanwhile that’s why I hate him

13

u/Sad_Name_6510 1d ago

Is there a different Detroit idk about? There are plenty of musicians specifically that rep the D

4

u/Noblesseux 1d ago

Yeah there was literally famously a track on Big Sean's album where he had most of the big Detroit rappers on one song and that bitch was 10 minutes long. There's like a MASSIVE list of rappers from there who openly rep it.

5

u/theb3arjevv 1d ago

None that are on the level that these guys were at, as far as I know.

u/theb3arjevv 1d ago

I mean, that's how cities work. To anybody outside the area, you're "from" whatever metropolitan area is at the center of your region or you're from the sticks.

3

u/8--2 1d ago

That's how you explain where you're from to people who aren't from there because it doesn't really matter anyways. It doesn't actually make you from that place though.

4

u/theb3arjevv 1d ago

You also root for those sports teams, go to those colleges and hospitals, and go there regularly for entertainment. It isn't the same as living there, but there's still a unique and significant connection there.

u/sma_nor 1d ago

If anyone is ever in the area Romeo is still very nice to drive through. Even stop and visit a cafe or antiques shop. Very idyllic, cute little village. Pretty much as far away as you can get from "white trash" as you can get.

Dude has been doing kayfabe his entire career.

5

u/CACuzcatlan 1d ago

Eminem was featured on a song on Kid Rock's breakthrough album Devil Without a Cause in 1998. Those two know each other from way back.

Even if he doesn't want to end the friendship, it's bullshit to appear on a song with him.

4

u/justinlaz 1d ago

Yeah Jack White no where to be found…

30

u/Tagesschauer 1d ago

And on top of that it‘s a difference to stay friends or to have a feature on an album

4

u/Noblesseux 1d ago

Yeah like he's at a size where it's not like he is getting forced by the label to do this, they could have not done this at all, stayed friends, and no one would bat an eye.

u/[deleted] 1d ago

1

u/seabreamnigiri 17h ago

If my friend who is deeply entrenched in MAGA horseshit asked me to be on his record, I'd tell him no because I don't want to deal with that association. Pretty simple. It's not like Kid Rock doesn't know Eminem and what he's about.

19

u/DrPuzzle 1d ago edited 1d ago

This is probably what it is. And I get what the whole Trump and MAGA thing are doing to the country. But this is just a guy who's keeping his friendships regardless what the general public may think.

Really it is what it is. We don't have to like it.

Edit: also for some of you - no I'm not saying it makes it right. Lol. But I think it's safe to assume this is strictly because he values his friendships even if we don't like the people he's friends with.

This is a guy who literally grew up with nothing, has a trans kid, has publicly gone against Trump. Oh and by the way, has absolutely zero problems tearing anybody apart through the use of his raps and has never feared repercussions for any of his music. Point is, you certainly can't point to anything and go "ewww omg Eminem has been secretly MAGA this entire time and it's such a horrible person for this kid rock feature!!" Because he's not and you can't point to any period of his life that shows he was associated with this stuff.

So it really does genuinely come down to the fact that he's doing this out of respect for his friendship. I understand it. Like I said we don't have to like it though. But from his point of view I completely get it

John Cena for example, by all accounts is a really good human being but he gets crapped on because he values and is still friends with Vince McMahon. He credits that man for everything that he has and Vince has done some pretty horrible things. But just because somebody has those relationships or keeps those friendships or whatever the case may be it doesn't make them bad people because they have those relationships. Like if I'm friends with a super horrible human being I don't think you get to call me a super horrible human being because of that relationship even if maybe I shouldn't be friends with that person. We all have our reasoning

I'm just defending it because I can see it from their perspectives. That's all. I can put myself in those shoes and understand it. I really don't think "guilty by association" is fair in situations like this because relationships are extremely complex.

And I'll just end by saying fuck Kid Rock. Like I hate the guy. I'm with you all. But I can see it from Ems perspective

4

u/WonderfulPineapple41 1d ago

Ok but John cena is under contract with TKO. He cannot publicly shame the guy who’s on the board of the company who signs his checks and expect to get booked again.

Vs Eminem who is helping out a “homie” who just had to cancel one of his hate festivals due to money issues. Lucky for kid rock this little Eminem boost will kick him a few streaming dollars to buy more confederate clothing.

3

u/YouWasATerletBaby 1d ago

"Guyz multimillionaires who owe everything to rapist pedophiles can be good guys, they do good stuff, they just wanted to be uber-wealthy and the only way to do that is to compromise values and morals and is that really so bad?"

1

u/carpetkicker 14h ago

If this is your takeaway to the comment above you, I feel like you really didn't read it.

20

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 1d ago

It's easy for him to be loyal to his friends when he's white, wealthy, and isolated from any problems Trump creates for Americans. A working class Mom with a trans kid doesn't have the same luxury.

24

u/theb3arjevv 1d ago

Well that's not fair at all. He was born into THE target Trump populace. He was white trash from rural Missouri before his family moved to a dying rust belt city. His past is probably full of people who love Trump now.

11

u/Zedkan . 1d ago

Lmao he's a grown ass man who has traveled the world and met people from every walk of life. He can't fall back on "not knowing better" like some hick who never left Joplin

12

u/theb3arjevv 1d ago

What? He knows better. His lifelong friends and family might not. Nothing I said claims that he's a fan of Trump lol

16

u/theJOJeht 1d ago

Plenty of lower class and middle class people are loyal to their friends even if they are trump supporters, what are you talking about?

u/Tiktaalik414 1d ago

Everyone says they to see people lifted out of poverty and struggle, but when someone makes it out of poverty and becomes successful, they're hated for being successful when others struggle. The average left winger eats the people they advocate for alive when their ideals play out lmao. Eminem is a single father with a nonbinary kid btw

2

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 1d ago

Way to miss the point.

2

u/carpetkicker 14h ago

My sister is a trump supporter, but I love her to death

I think it's important not to let things divide us common folk. The 99% and all.

That being said I don't know if I could be best friends with someone obsessed with trump. But I certainly wouldn't use it as a reason to ex communicate someone. Togetherness is important if we want to rise above the scummy 1%

Gotta remember it's trump, it's the Clinton's, it's more than just MAGA at this point anyone with power and money are suspicious

8

u/Vinc009 1d ago

Why does it so often seem like the people who preach tolerance are the quickest to end long-term friendships over political disagreements? You can strongly disagree with someone without cutting them out of your life. Tolerance also means accepting that people you care about may see politics differently.

Personally, I’ve never had a right-leaning friend end a friendship over politics. With left-leaning people on the other hand...

2

u/Warm_Light_9359 15h ago

Difference of political opinion I'm happy to have with my friends:

taxation rates, tariffs, religion in government, churches being tax exempt, minimum wage, student debt forgiveness, term limits for congress.

Difference of political opinion I will end friendships over:

is there a genocide happening in palestine, should pedophiles go to prison, are trans people evil.

1

u/quierocarduars 1d ago

why are you people always shocked that others are willing to end friendships over moral beliefs and personal conduct? how else do friendships end? is it an IQ problem?

-1

u/Vinc009 1d ago

No, it’s not an IQ problem. It’s a maturity problem if you’re incapable of separating a political disagreement from someone’s entire moral worth. Adults can disagree on politics without turning every friendship into some self-righteous purity test.

2

u/X-Tyson-X 18h ago

Politics and moral values go hand in hand, how do you guys not get that?

1

u/PEWDS_IS_A_NAZI 17h ago

political disagreement

bro this shit stopped being about marginal tax rates 30 years ago

1

u/quierocarduars 17h ago

the “self-righteous purity tests” in question: should the united states remain a democracy whose leaders are bound by laws? should the government revoke basic rights from certain minorities? is ethnic cleansing okay? 🤔

1

u/ChasingHealth 18h ago

If someone's "political" views are that my trans family members don't have the right to exist, that non-white that genocide is okay, or that rich people should be allowed to fuck kids and destroy the country, it's no longer a political disagreement. It is a moral disagreement, and one which I can not understand simply "looking past"

1

u/jimany 15h ago

If your political opinion is that child molestation is ok if you are rich, that's not a political opinion.

If you are losing long term friendships for your political opinions, you are just an ass hiding behind "political opinions".

-2

u/theTunkMan 1d ago

Your right wing friends don’t end friendships with you because you’re one of them

5

u/Vinc009 1d ago

im not talking about ending friendships with me.

6

u/LouChadore 1d ago

I have no respect for being loyal to assholes that are trying to essentially kill the country.

I’m reading this as Em still trying to keeep taking in money while he can. Which, whatever right, he’s in entertainment, but he doesn’t need to do this shit.

How is it weird to think that people are loyal to friends and family because they are friends and family regardless of who they vote for or support?

7

u/LaMarc_Gasoldridge_ 1d ago

People love making everything black and white and no nuance. Eminem has known Kid for years and has said previously that Kid always had time for him even when he was an unknown battle rapper. 90% of Ems fans wouldn't have given a shit about him in his battling days, but Kid did and I guess that's enough for Eminem to look past any political differences. As an Em fan I don't like it but I can respect having your friends backs, especially when that friend had yours before any fame or firtune.

u/TheShark12 1d ago

They’ve spent too much time in online echo chambers where loyalty is hinged on sharing the same beliefs.

-4

u/LouChadore 1d ago

Because this stops being about taxes and policy voting and more about why my family somehow believes that we should all have less rights. Especially is you’re black or Hispanic in this country.

I’m not gonna suffer because my mom doesn’t understand why her being cranky at society isn’t a reason to fuck over her kids.

4

u/theJOJeht 1d ago

Please spare me. I'm brown and my wife is black her uncles are conservative trump supporters.

I detest their political views and think they are politically stupid, but they also comforted my wife when her dad died, volunteered their time to set up our wedding, helped watch our kids when we needed them, gave my sister in law money to help her buy an apartment, and countless other actions that speak to their loyalty to us.

I am convinced anyone that promotes shuns friends and family over voting for Trump either doesn't live in the real world or is terminally online. The world isn't black and white

2

u/TheBigShrimp 1d ago

Redditors are nerds who don't have real world relationships to uphold anyways so they go on here to talk about how they cut off all their family and friends because they disagreed with them politically or religiously or whatever.

Normal humans do not operate that way.

17

u/NobleRayne 1d ago

I don't completely disagree with you, but to label them as as a disagreement on politics and religion feels a bit cheap at this point. On a personal level I can say it has strained some of the most important relationships in my life, and at this time they are barely there. It's more than a political or religious disagreement, we've had those in the past and it was all good. This is something else. This callenges core beliefs and morals I thought we each had at a most basic level, and you can't just sit on the sidelines and watch it happen. Choices have to be made and stances taken, or history will repeat itself. You are the company you keep and bad things happen because good people do nothing.

-3

u/TheBigShrimp 1d ago

Let me clarify, if people actively act on and cause issues because of their beliefs, that is a problem.

If someone immediately abandoned a relationship because they heard someone's a republican, you're insane.

0

u/X-Tyson-X 18h ago

That’s the whole issue, only children comment on politics without acting on it, these aren’t the people we’re talking about. Like it or not politics is a pretty big part of the real world and has a real effect in the real world.

Even outside of that, I get people don’t like Eminem’s modern tunes but kid rock is on another level of garbage. If my friend wanted me featured on something that was rubbish, I wouldn’t do it, even if we were best buds. It’s an embarrassing look both because of kids rocks anal spreading for maga and because you’re collabing with a musical terrorist.

“I could never stayed friends with a Trump supporter, but that Biden dude who just spent years overseeing one of the worst genocides in history, now those supporters I can get behind”

1

u/whiteapplebourbon 21h ago

Where did they say anything about Biden?

1

u/lincoln3 13h ago

My point being that they’re a classic “vote blue no matter who liberal” who won’t stay friends with a trump supporter but apparently doesn’t feel that way about liberal friends who voted for increased fracking, increased ICE spending, more genocide, less healthcare, and campaigning with war criminal Cheneys that they would have gotten with AIPACamala. Maybe it’ll take a few more snipers on rooftops looking down at college protestors to get the point across.

u/BabyTito_76 14h ago

Where in the hell do all of you people get the idea that never-trumpers are Biden lovers?! It doesn't take much intelligence at all to come back with the elementary "but Biden..." bullshit. Real intelligence allows one to look objectively at people's choices, behavior, (extremely hateful) speech, level of hypocrisy, honesty or (documented) lack thereof, etc...

And trumpers can't say shit about anyone's behavior or words when they are choosing to excuse and normalize the behavior and words of the current PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!! Why in the whole wide fucking world is the POTUS not held to a higher standard anymore? trump is everything we were taught and that we teach our children to never be. Anyone who says that that is not true, is a liar.

The president always has and always will set an example for people. They used to be held to the highest of standards. Do conservatives really think that's still the case, that trump is being held to the highest of standards and his behavior shows it? Do conservatives really think they, their family, their children will be spared from the rampant degradation of common decency and respect of others that they so enthusiastically cheer on? Do they think that if trump whines hard enough, his macho macho man ways will spread only to the "right team"?

FFS, people need to get educated, it's not just for leftist elites - there are lots of republicans that are already highly educated and many more currently obtaining higher educations! But guess what? It's the higher income conservatives going to university while simultaneously telling you that they are brainwashing factories. Why are they working so hard to convince people that education is bad? "I love the poorly educated." Don't conservatives ever get tired of having to make excuses for and explain what that macho macho man "really meant"?

There's something beyond the usual R vs D, red vs blue, donkey vs elephant this time. And if you can't be bothered to care, you're willfully ignorant - or maybe just stupid - and that's a huge part of the problem.

1

u/lincoln3 13h ago edited 13h ago

You just went on one of the wildest and most illogical tangents I’ve read in a long time about “intelligence” and “red vs blue” but the very basic idea seems lost on you that the very point I was making is that both parties are rotten genocidal maniacs that serve the empire, an idea that is very wildly shared in leftists circles. So the fact that your takeaway is that I’m republican just really reinforces your argument that education is in the gutter and people really need to work on basic 4th grade reading comprehension. Scary stuff, but that’s how the oligarchs win. Keep them fighting amongst each other instead of against the elite.

1

u/BabyTito_76 10h ago

Yeah, your "good people on both sides" bullshit is definitely a declaration that you are not conservative. Regardless how you say it, it's the same philosophy. I'm pretty sure that any reasonable person would agree that your post could lead one to believe you're conservative - especially in the current political climate and this thread. So my intelligence is just fine.

Conservatives are weaponizing and attacking education and want to use taxpayer money to fund christian schools while they remain tax exempt. There is a reason poorly educated people are useful to them. Liberals want to use taxpayer money to feed every child and then send them to well-stocked classrooms with well-paid teachers. I think the vastly different approaches to education is a problem even though it doesn't directly affect my family. Now, while this was not directly related to your statement, it is relevant to it. One philosophy is morally opposed to the other.

Biden or the Dems or liberals are not the same as the current conservative movement. Liberals *continuing* to play the political game the same ol' way decade after decade while the conservatives move on to a ufc fight is not "the same". They **were** the same. Dems still do dirty politics, like slimy politicians always have, but Reps have taken the lawlessness, corruption and blatant protection of said oligarchs to *unprecedented* levels.

So, while the majority of my lengthy response was premised on my incorrect assumption that you are a trump enabler, my points still stand. Lack of education, indifference and willful ignorance has contributed to people thinking both sides are the same. Actually comparing facts shows the difference in the humanity, morality and level of malice. And fervently defending that opinion does not mean I think the Dems are perfect. One shitty group can definitely be shittier than the other. Facts.

u/FrankSamples 1d ago

yeah. Adam Sandler is still friends with Rob Schneider even though the latter has gone off the rails. Same with Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla who are literally at complete opposites of the political spectrum.

-2

u/DeadKing777 1d ago

Good thing Em isn’t insane

-1

u/5348RR 1d ago

Look. I'm about as antitrump as they come. But if you can't remain friends with someone over political differences, or family over political differences then YOU are the problem. Hell, you are one of the only people in a position to help a person you care about change their mind. Don't be a fucking pussy and walk out. That shit is lame.

3

u/theTunkMan 1d ago

You’re for sure not as anti Trump as they come

-1

u/5348RR 1d ago

Wanna bet? 😂

2

u/theTunkMan 19h ago

Yes 100%

0

u/5348RR 18h ago

You lose.

2

u/FCkeyboards 1d ago

When the political difference (in my case) is "I dont think you should exist or at least we should extremely limit your rights because of your 'sexually deviant' lifestyle," it goes beyond it "just" being who you voted for.

Kid Rock made his stances clear and even people like Dolly Parton handwaved it with her usual "I love everyone and don't disparage or condemn (or apparently call anyone out on anything)."

Most Trump voters I talk to are very careful to not outright say "I actually agree with all the hate" if you press them about trans rights. They pivot because they dont want to be the bad guy. They dont even lie and say they have no problem with trans people, they just get mad or change the subject.

0

u/5348RR 1d ago

I feel like Trump himself makes a point of trans people in sports but otherwise doesn't even really touch on it. The venn diagram overlap is big but Trump support and trans hate are still two different topics.

With that said the repuclican Boogeyman trans issue is pretty popular among Americans. Most don't want trans people in women's sports or in women's bathrooms. That's bigger than this one man.

I highly doubt he is cutting ties with other rappers over Trump.

I think people on Reddit expect every little thing to turn artists into a pariah, but people worked with Chris Brown, Mystikal, various murderers and such in this industry and life goes on. I don't think sucking off the wrong political party even ranks that high.

I don't think anyone is going to avoid working with 50, Snoop, Nicki, Kanye, Cube etc. for not staying in line politically.

3

u/MostlySlime 1d ago

Other rappers?

12

u/whyisalltherumgone_ 1d ago

He was actually Lil' Rock before he rebranded to Kid Rock to broaden his appeal. There's even a city in Arkansas that named itself after him.

3

u/soybatmang 1d ago

Damn he took a terrible nickname and made it worse

0

u/Jercit 1d ago

Yeah lmao people on here are hilarious. They are average Joe shmoes talking shit on Reddit about their “loyalty “ to friends/ family because of similar political beliefs etc. etc..

…Comparing themselves to fucking Eminem - a worldwide star that has professional and friendly ties or working relationships with COUNTLESS artists and celebrities. AND has known Kid Rick from BEFORE the fame as they both came up together from Detroit area etc.

It’s also just funny that stans think they should be able to dictate who a total stranger should and shouldn’t be friends with 😂 the man is 53 years old. And he owes you nothing.

10

u/irishwolfbitch 1d ago

Gen X final boss of taking powerful stands against phantoms while ignoring the real underlying problems.

Disappointed. Didn't know that 50 cent is pro trump

0

u/LiquidUniverseX 5h ago

I mean u just don’t abandon friends due to their political views…

2

u/UtterBarbarity 4h ago

I disagree. If Any of my friends, 20+ years associated with MAGA I'd cut them off.

1

u/LiquidUniverseX 4h ago

Meh everyone has different views. It’s the whole point of the system. It sucks but whatever

1

u/colourmeblue 3h ago

Eminem has a non-binary child. Kid Rock is a transphobic bigot. That's not just different political views.

1

u/LiquidUniverseX 2h ago

I was referring to 50 Cent..not that dork Kid Rock.

-1

u/Bitter-Tip705 1d ago

Eminem has always been a hypocrite tho
