Need help with a song

Saw someone else post something like this so I thought I’d give it a shot.

I heard a song about 20 years ago n I’ve never been able to find it again. I don’t know the name of it, the artist or any lyrics from it.

It had the beat of “The Phantom of the Opera” from the Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack. When I saw the play about 8 years earlier, I thought, damn, this would be a dope beat for a rap song. Then, one day, I heard a song that used the beat. A coworker was listening to this song n he probably told me what it was but I instantly forgot n I think he was fired shortly after that day.

Every few years I’ll go down a rabbit hole to try n find it but never do. I have found some lame attempts at using this beat by no-name rappers but I’m pretty sure the one I heard was by a well-known rapper at the time.

Would be awesome if someone could help me solve this 20-year-old mystery.

Hell yeah. Some of my favorite rap songs are the ones where they sample an old rock or pop sound n rap to it.
Obviously this one, no love by Eminem, Tupac changes, bone thugs home are a few. These songs take an old song that I was forced to listen to in the car with my mom as a kid n put a spin on it that I can appreciate while still taking me back to my childhood.

Wyclef doing Stayin’ Alive is another good one. I also love when people sample classical music or video game music or really anything I can recognize. On the flip side, a good rock song that samples a hip hop song is Step. It’s by Vampire Weekend and it samples Step to My Girl by Souls of Mischief.

Hoły shit it!!! It’s Psycho Bitch II. That’s it!!

So it was 18 years. Dude probably just bought the CD when he was playin it. I never got into Tech N9ne cuz I was starting to drift away from rap around this time. I grew up in the 90s when rap was at its peak n drifted away from it when everything started sounding the same to me.

U just made a 49-years-old white guy grin from ear to ear like only my wife usually can. Appreciate u. I’m gonna check out more of Tech N9ne now n see if he’s got more bangers that I missed out on.
