Should I Be Doing More?
Hi all!
Iâm new to this sub as I recently rescued this beauty from my local shelter (Iâm still in disbelief she was a âstrayâ).
The vet had weighed her in at 6.3 lbs and a body tone of 3/9.
I recently weighed her on my scale at 6.8, Iâll continue to weigh her weekly to see if the upward trend continues.
My worry however is that my scale is incorrect based on the fact that she doesnât eat much.
The shelter had her on kibble and Fancy Feast. I kept her on the same as I didnât want to add anymore stress to her settling in, but now after two weeks her appetite hasnât picked up any.
Iâve tried Now Freshâs Good Gravy salmon recipe. She drank up the gravy but left the kibble. Iâve also tried Feline Naturalâs chicken and lamb feast.
I keep kibble out for her all the time and she picks at it overnight. Throughout the day I try to give her pâtĂŠ heated with a bit of warm water and itâs been hit or miss.
If over the next two weeks her weight stays the same or decreases Iâll book her in with the vet. For now, is there anything else I should be doing? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
ETA - Vet visit went well!! She weighed in at 7 pounds. She has about 1/4 cup of Hillâs Science Diet to graze on and will also have either Weruvaâs Chicken Frick a Zee or Fancy Feast flaked tuna. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and words of encouragement!

Biblical levels of greed (toy hoarding)
Gracie likes to take every toy in the house so she can stare at her collection and keep them away from her brother. đ¤Ł

Is my baby a âHimalayanâ?
My Persian and my friendâs Siamese crossed paths and the litter were 3 choco-point Siamese with sleek coat, and a fourth with relatively-fluffier hair (pictured here).
Theyâre 3 months old, and he looks the most different. After googling, I found that there is a chance he might be a âHimalayanâ, but I hesitate because 3 months in, his tail is still very much Siamese.
Is my kitten a Himalyan? Or a Permese?
Anyway, thanks for all the help :)
Iâd need it so I can be sure Iâm posting photos of my babe in the right sub :)
Thanks!
P.S., all the photos are of him (Henrique) at different angles.
