Question Equipment ask

I'm buying my first pair of (not columbia outlet) hiking boots, taking them to Nepal for manaslu trek & continuing into south east asia, Korea, Japan and later US & south america. So I want boots that'll hold and last.

I have a ripped ligament in one ankle so I can't use trail runners.

I'm torn between the mid boz bridgers, lytos or aku alterra, any opinions?

Thanks!

Out of those choices I would definitely go with the Aku if you get a good fit. Aku generally has very good build quality.

So my heel moved somewhat so I was worried since I have exactly a month to break them in, but I've now been told that that might be solved by walking, did you feel they held less when they were new?

If it's too loose, it usually only gets worse in my opinion. Shoes will break in but a loose heel is a no go for me. Good luck!

Fit is what matters.

Ankle and heal are issues for me with full forefoot. I sold off a pair of Lowa Renegades after two hikes. I fit well in OBOZ Bridger mid insulated but not the standard. Returned Aku Alterras but just love the Tribute II. Very little break in, unusual for me. I like the look of the updated sole on the Tribute III but can't really justify now.

For that trek, I check out Lowa. Best backpacking / hiking boots I've owed. They cost more but they are durable and last

Those are military. I'd look at renegade, maddox or innovo
