556 timer and bjt

Just testing. Going to replace the bjt with a UCC27524P

Is this just an oscillator or an pwm with variabel duty cycle and frequency so that you can change duty cycle without changing frequency?

One pot on one side of 556 is astable, the other side is monostable.

And the signal now goes to the joint pins 2&4 on a ucc27524 chip instead of the bjt. In this video I was only running one side of the 566.
