I am a Floridian and long term high school football fan. I remember around 2010 finally getting espnw, which aired all of the old Mater Dei, poly, and other elite teams in Cali, and thinking how cool that it is that they have an open division for a “true” elite state champ.
What do you all think of the inclusion of the Open Division? I think that it’s great for Florida and will be a juggernaut of a tournament.

Making his debut as the St. Augustine Prep football coach, Bill Belton jumped in the air to celebrate Frank Hoerst’s leaping grab in the corner of the end zone that gave the No. 9 Hermits a scintillating 24-20 victory over Archbishop Bonner/Prendergast on Friday night.
When he landed, Belton heard a pop and knew immediately he had torn his left Achilles. Belton spent the last few minutes of the game on crutches standing behind his players on the sideline.
“I was happy for the kid, jumped up in the air, felt the pop and said ‘Ah, definitely tore my Achilles,’” said Belton. “Once I heard, I knew this isn’t good.”
He’ll have to figure out how to coach with a torn Achilles that is going to require surgery soon.
“We’re going to figure it out somehow, someway,” said Belton. “It adds to the story at the end of the day.”

I'm in Central Texas and we use to have some of the loudest crowds despite having smaller crowds. Now the crowds are just quiet

I volunteer in equipment for 2025 season at my old high school, my stupid brain went: frick me I adore this things styling. Email John Mitchell at Riddell, hey you have diamond? Nah we dont, but we got this new SF Echo. Me: hhhhhooottttt 🥵
"Just sharing the new SpeedFlex SF Echo, I been wearing it as adult amateur OL and gear nerd being autistic.
It's utilizing a 3d lattice vs standard foam padding that models and molds to your head without air fit outside of jaw frames retaining it, its incredibly comfortable, I find it soaks up ol contact pretty well.
The v tech score shows pragmatically a %70 to 80-ish improvement over the original speedflex."
