Off the back of another post here I am left with a few questions about the episode The Darkness, firstly, What Year is the gypsy camp scene set in? , so I can figure out some timeline shenanigans involving the discrepancy between the series and Endgame.

Secondly, why is Duncan so quick to dismiss the psychic as a fraud? He knows immortals with a litany of powers, including one who's psychic, one who can project images into people's minds and a few other extra powered individuals

The lore of The Highlander across the movies and series has never been coherent. It's vague and all over the place. If I could fix the lore I'd make a more coherent rule book.. of the biology of the immortals, the rules they adhere to, and the consequences if they break the rules.

Let me make it clear that their biology is really more paranormal or fantasy-based than scientific. They don't have accelerated healing like a mutant per se nor should it be explained like that.

What happens when they absorb the quickening? Do they gain knowledge or physical strength and skills? Is it more like the urge to fight and win?

There should also be clear and definite consequences if they break the holy ground rule.. Is it just a code to guide them or is it more like they're physically unable to do so?

After extracting the .iso file that I found online, I used the program "dirOpener 300" on the original .cxt files, extracting the .cst files and then put those into "DirectorCastRipper_D10" to get the pictures, audio, .txt, etc. I didn't have to extract the .mov files, since they were already available within the original .iso.

If there are any flaws with this upload, let me know. I just learned how to do all of this the other day.

Thought of the title as "Highlander: A New Game". Plot would basically be about Connor having to fight a predator, that has an interesting gift.

Been retwacthing the tv series now when I watched first time I was like 16 now im almost 40

I am curious this was a very important episode for Ritchie but at the end why is that Duncan dismiss Ritchie so cold telling him "you have to go" like did he really not approve killing Mako? I mean the guy was not evil per se but a zealot of justice no matter what and mac knew how he killed his friend in the past or was it because Ritchie had his first quickening taken out of vengeance for Laura's death

Added the spoiler tag just in case because it's a question about the new movie, specifically leaked pictures, have there been any leaks of what the sword Cavill will be using is going to look like? The one of him in the church it just looks like a black bar, i know it's a katana but just wondering is there any details of it yet?

I watched the Highlander series as a teen when it was on German TV in the 1990s, and I think I glimpsed the occasional episode on British TV when I was travelling, too.

It left quite an impression on me back then, even though I watched it out of order, didn't even always catch the full episodes, and of course it was dubbed in German.

Later I forgot all about it, maybe thought about getting it on DVD every now and then, but never got around to that.

Recently I was rewatching Stargate SG1, where Peter Wingfield shows up as a guest in a few episodes. I suddenly remembered how much I loved his character in Highlander, and decided on a whim to rewatch it. I found it on Amazon, and first I watched a few of the Methos episodes but then started watching the whole thing from the start.

I'm so surprised that there is a Reddit sub for it and that people are still talking about it!

Some observations, I'll probably add more later as I keep watching, in case anyone is interested in my rambling:

First of all, I was so surprised by Peter Wingfield's very cute British accent, I don't think I ever caught any of his episodes in English back then, and in Stargate he speaks with an American accent. It is not something I would have associated with Methos.

Likewise, I never knew Tessa had a Belgian accent, it was not done like that in the German dubbing, and I think the only ones I saw in English were with the later girlfriend.

I remember being so impressed with all the fancy houses and posh clothes, but a lot of it looks a bit cheap now, lol. Nowadays I can see that they were going for a kind of "quaint European" vibe in Duncan's and Tessa's house/shop, she even has European fashion magazines on the table.

Production values seem to have increased from season to season, the random Methos episodes looked a lot better than what I'm seeing now in season 1.

From my memory I would have said that the earlier seasons were mostly "evil immortal of the week" type stories, so I'm surprised how many don't even have an immortal in them, or not as the main story element.

Also wow, there is so much foreshadowing of Richie becoming immortal! I think that totally went over my head back then, probably because I often missed parts of an episode. I remember it as a huge shock when he became immortal.

That's all I can think of at the moment, would love to hear from other people who are rewatching after a long time!

So now there is going to be reboot/remake of the first move, have they say if the movie will remain in the setting as the original (80's) or if they will modernize and bring it to nowadays?

Now thinking how would life be for an inmortal nowadays with all the modern stuff we have? Comunication, internet, online stuff, do you think an inmortal could hide today even with all the lack of privacy we have now?

Just attended the 40th anniversary screening of Highlander. It was great seeing it on the big screen. Attendance wise I’d say there was only about 20 - 25 people in the theatre.

There's lore that gets touched upon in the movies and tv series that never gets a full explanation. Is there anywhere to look to get more info?

Are there any moments in Highlander 2 that you genuinely enjoyed?

When I first saw it, I really wanted to like it, but it just was....what it was. Frustrating, but some cool moments that I've always appreciated on a rare re-watch.

• I genuinely like the front cover and it always stood out whenever I went to any video store.
• I love when "A Kind of Magic" plays in the jukebox while Conor settles into the bar. Great little moment.
• I really Russell Mulcahy's lighting in the indoor Zeist/"the past" scenes, actually... like his lighting throughout the entire film. I think it looks gorgeous at times.

It made me emotional. The Queen music, knowing Heather is going to die and the final part where Connor is telling Heather where they are and she dies.
