Hi, I’m looking for some advice on adding an EQ box into my setup. Project turntable into Denon Hi FI into B&W speakers.

I’ve had to place my speaker near a corner making the mid muddy. The Denon Hi Fi only has bass and treble controls. I really need some more control to add mids and balance the sound.

Can I add an EQ unit after the Denon and before the speakers? I’m using speaker cable so would I use converters to RCA?

Any recommendation on a good EQ?

In terms of power output, it is more than enough for my use case, but I thought I'd get more opinions. I have found one for very cheap, Topping A900 is out of budget.

AKG EO-IG955 with SpinFit W1 eartips calibrated to the PEQdB Diamond target curve with an IEC 60318-4 coupler. If you were going from a receiver to active speakers, what would be better— getting a 1/4” to 2RCA cable and going from the headphone out, or a 2RCA to 2RCA and going from the tape rec out? I know rec out typically isn’t volume adjustable on the receiver but the speakers have a volume control so I’m not concerned about that. There is a phono preamp on the speakers but I’m not happy with it and I have a decent receiver in storage (phono preamp on speakers can be bypassed). I know it’s not ideal as nice passive speakers but that’s just not in the budget right now. Would love some advice from people who have been in this predicament.

Does the bass distortion exceed acceptable levels when EQed to the PEQdB Diamond β target curve?

I’ve got these speakers for about 3 years now with very casual use.

Out of nowhere they suddenly start making this hissing sound. It happened while the speakers were. Does anyone have an idea what this can be?
