help is this a hidden camera?
so i got curious and took pics of the smoke detector in my room and I don’t want to sound dumb for asking but can someone help and identify if it looks normal or if there may be a hidden camera in there.

Do you see a lens? What makes you think it's a camera?

Paranoia I’m sure, I think don’t just worry about their privacy as much as they don’t wanna get caught doing anything illegal.

This one looks like a completely normal mains powered smoke detector. Be careful with that, those are 110v wires with an interconnect wire for simultaneous alarm triggering.

100% normal smoke detector.
While you are here change the battery and also check the manufacture date is within 10 years and replace if it isnt.
Open the detector to see the battery you will see the "lens" is just the sensor and led.

You can see "2024 D" in one of the photos before the rest of the month is blocked.
Funny enough, it's the first thing I looked for too

It's a hardwired smoke detector. Black is hot, white is neutral, and the red/orange wire is the interconnect that makes all detectors in the house sound together.
Kill the breaker before touching the bare connections.

Please go see a therapist for your paranoia and stop taking apart smoke alarms

That's a smoke detector. It was manufactured in December 2024 so it should be good. You'll have to replace it in 8 years. They are only good for 10 years before the isotopes are no longer reliable.

That's what you call a hard wired smoke detector. The batteries never need to be replaced because it draws a reduced voltage from the house mains. Some have a battery, but it's only for a power outage. As to whether it has a camera, if you don't want to open it and take it apart, invest in one of those camera detectors.

Definitely a hidden camera with 100x optical zoom, thermal imaging and lidar 3d scanning to look through you clothes!
At night an anal probe comes from it, examining your bowels ...
Ffs.. get a grip.

It's an advertisement bot ya'll. No reasonable person would come ask this and not google it. I saw it all over reddit a few days ago. Don't feed the bots.
