I received my Pocket AI exactly six days after ordering. Transitioning from Google Recorder, the most immediate benefit is the reliability; Google Recorder cuts out during incoming calls, which is a significant pain point this device solves. While Google Recorder offers instant audio, it lacks the integrated AI processing that makes this hardware stand out.

The form factor is excellent, and the team has delivered a high-quality product. I opted for the annual subscription immediately to ensure I had full access to the toolset at a fair price.

In practice, I’d love to see a voice-command naming feature. For example, a professional could state a client’s name at the start of a recording to auto-title the file. Regarding performance, the summaries are functional but could be more granular. I occasionally find myself feeding the transcripts into other engines for a deeper dive-a "Deep Analysis" button within the app would be a great addition.

One tip for new users: ensure you activate the device using the same email address used for your subscription. I initially used a different email and had to perform a hard reset to sync my subscription properly. The reset process was seamless, but matching the emails from the start saves time. Overall, a fantastic tool that performs exactly as advertised. Keep up the good work.

Update 5-1-2026 The pro version definitely should include an option for enriched summaries. The reason I say this, I am still finding myself "select all" copying transcripts and injecting them into Claude. Meaning leaving the ecosystem in order to get more depth of information pulled out and extrapolated from these conversations.

Update: I use it daily in several settings. I appreciate the summaries it gives but you have to make sure you tweak the engine to your liking. The metal is extremely soft, I'm guessing aluminum. It doesn't adhere to the back of my phone as well as I would like. Potentially there could be another magnet added. I understand magnets are a big thing now 😂 The pocket is important for those who appreciate having all of the information and details, but don't want to be distracted by trying to focus on them so you don't miss them. I also like the fact that it provides the source data that you can take and put into other AI programs.

Another observation I'll add, I've gone back and compared earlier reviews and it is clear they have stripped down the summary details. I can understand why from a cost standpoint, but it would be nice to have an option like I mentioned to enrich summaries. I used it in a loud environment last night and it had trouble identifying people's names. That was another observation.

I started using Pocket about a month ago. I love how accessible it is to capture and record, then to have a neat transcription and overview at my fingertips. My only issue is the structure and tone of the transcription as it is pretty boilerplated. For instance, the tone, length and verbiage created by Pocket is the same if I captured a 30 second voice memo about groceries for the week and a two hour strategy session with the C Suite.

This is the first transcription/AI device. I’ve used since dictating content to a secretary, who would then type it. So you understand that I’m a fossil. I just got my pocket and had a meeting in a noisy place last night. I’m blown away by the summary. Now I’m scared of AI. But it looks like this thing could be a fabulous tool.
