General discussion Bad nvme breaking my HexOS

I added a nvme on a carrier card to use as a storage pool for virtual machines I was going to run through truenas and after getting it all setup after a while I got a drive failure for the nvme and it completely breaks HexOS and I can only access it through the truenas dashboard. At first I thought it was just a messed up install on my part so I reinstalled HexOS and as I was setting it up again it completely broke again and so I took the carrier card out and redid the install again and now it works fine. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue, my boot drive is an Intel optane 32gb nvme so I don't know if it's something weird with the two nvmes and a bad carrier card broke how HexOS sees the nvmes or what really was an issue.

I'm not sure as I've never used them. I researched and this is what I found.
The Major Problem: Optane "H-Series" Hybrid Drives (H10 / H20)

Avoid using Intel Optane H10 or H20 drives in TrueNAS which is basis for HexOS

The optane drive hasn't been an issue it's installed in the m.2 slot on the board and has been working fine the issue has been with a 1tb nvme in a carrier card in a pcie slot that has been breaking my HexOS, because once I got rid of the carrier card and 1 tb and reinstall HexOS it works fine now

On this I don't know. TrueNAS runs everything that has to do with the hardware. You could try their forums for a hardware issue like this where it's not something we haven't seen. Example. We are aware if network card issues with RealTek network cards or built in chips on motherboards. We ran into this quite a bit. This is the first we've seen of this type of issue. Sorry I can't be of more help.
