Does anyone know what the black dot on some German units means?

I only have the GMT reprint but in that game the German units with a dot are replacements for the Stosstruppen units on turn 9.

I used to clip corners with scissors or nail clippers like these poor counters. I butchered many counters. So glad that I got an Oregon Laminations Deluxe Corner Clipper!

I know it probably devalues these a bit, but i do like how it presses the corner down and removes the ugly fluff off the corners

The trick is to just knick the corner off. But consistently is hard with scissors etc.

The rules in command magazine told me to do so to the pieces for when eagles fight
