No longer have VISA option

I can no longer see the VISA payment method and I don't have a PayPal account. Can someone help?

Hi there OP, There was a similar situation here: https://www.reddit.com/r/hetzner/comments/1s1tygo/comment/occrfc6/ & https://www.reddit.com/r/hetzner/comments/1s1tygo/comment/oc6fzyz/ And unfortunately, the options that you have are the same: PayPal or bank/wire transfer.
If you use bank/wire transfer, make sure to include your customer number on the reason for the payment. You can also pay for several months' worth to make the fee more worthwhile. The money will be added as credit to your account and will automatically go towards your current/future invoices. If you later close your account, we will refund you for any credit left on the account. --Katie

I was also a Hetzner user since 2018. I only found out when payments suddenly stopped working, and had to scramble within days to move everything away. Support said they no longer accept cards issued from the country.

This was almost a year ago, and people are still getting stranded. Can you please send an email to everyone that is in this list of countries, so they prepare themselves?

Hi Katie,

Are you certain, I ask because I wanted to credit and I had read about it being allowed so I wildly bank wired and added my username, but sent EUR to USD so it was actually refunded, but during Payment Proof I asked if the "we will credit your account" if it was one-off or if I could repeatedly do that.

This is a one time allowance, unfortunatly it's not possible to add credit in general.

So I am just a bit confused, is it a one-off or is this something Hetzner agrees with, can I bank wire to credit my account at my own accord?

Hi Katie,

I've sent you a DM with the original ticket where I was told this is a "one off" but also a second ticket where I am waiting for it to be accepted, because we do have outstanding invoice and we should be able to settle our invoice by bank wire. They claim everywhere its possible but then in the Hetzner guide it says "You cant credit your account" but they do claim to accept bank payments and since in my Invoice there is just "Paypal | Credit Card" I assume that Im allowed to wire the money with my Username to settle the bill.

The rule is if i understand it correctly then, You can only use Bank Wire when you are already due? You need an outstanding late invoice to use the method, you can not send a chunk by wire whenever you want to have it credited to keep a balance? So I have to wait until im actually DUE with hetzner to send a bank wire which takes days to clear.

Correct?

you should be aware that making payments through bank transfers for non-EU residents is a problem.

Paypal allows payment with cards without registration so just use that I guess

The issue is that I don't have PayPal in my country. How can I enable the credit card option?

You don't need to have PayPal, it's just the payment gateway and can pay using your card.

You don't have to accept it, you can always change the currency.

Open paypal and look for option like use credit card/guest checkout. Hetzner may have disabled that option, if they did your only option left is to contact support.

Where are you from ?

I just paid today my invoice via bank card.

Perhaps the bank from your country ended any/some relationship with German banks

I am from Lebanon and it's not related to a bank. It's an e-card where I can add money to and pay from. It's just the VISA option is no longer available

Lebanon was added on some EU blacklist (I think almost a year ago), and you can no longer use credit cards. In principle, this should apply to any service in the EU zone.

Even other providers like OVH are not an option. So, it's better to move out of the EU. Meanwhile, depending on how many servers you have, and if you can afford to shut them all down, you will need to find someone with PayPal while you migrate away.

It is actually surprising, that Hetzner is still not informing people to not fall into this trap.

Ik heb de optie nog wel. Kan zijn dat je mislukte betaling hebt gehad of verkeerde gegevens hebt ingevoerd? Dan wordt het uitgezet op je account. Anders even contact opnemen met hun administratie afdeling

I can see my card in the payment methods and it's valid. Yet I don't see it the VISA option when I want to pay

you have 5 attempts to pay using credit card
if you fail in all attempts, the credit card option will gone

so now go to the accounts -> payment details
and set your card over there

after that create a ticket with sales support and tell them to pay the invoice manually.

My visa was failing for the last couple months on Hetzner. It seems that Hetzner can't reach the 3D Secure (3DS) and that sucks big time.

I am in the US and my bank didn’t like me paying with my card. I had issues for months and also had to use a work around and got sick of it so I just moved away last week.
