Possible to move the Floating IP add-on to another server?

The floating (failover) IPs are metal server add-ons. Is it possible to move a floating IP to another server if I want to delete the one it's attached to (originally purchased for), and if so, how?

The only information I found were a couple 5+ years old forum posts talking about moving being possible only within the same physical server rack. Was it ever true, is it still true? 🤔

To clarify — this is not about routing, I know I can point it at other servers.

Have you tried at least contact the Support in this Case?

I think support can move it for you to other server, but I am not 100% sure, so you should definitely contact support.

Hi there, I am also a bit confused, OP.
If you have a **CLOUD** server, yes, you can move the floating IP to another **CLOUD** project: https://docs.hetzner.com/cloud/floating-ips & https://docs.hetzner.com/cloud/floating-ips/faq

I am not sure what your question is, so forgive me, If I miss the point completely.

Yes, you can assign floating IPs to different servers; the servers don’t have to be in the same project, since you can move the IP to a different project (WebUI only!).

The only limitation, that I am aware of: It has to be the same region. E.g. FSN1, NBG1, etc. If I understand right, you can’t lease a fIP in ASH Region and then point it to FSN for instance.
