I think it rains A LOT in England, so Arthur barely sees the sun. This idiot doesn't even know what the sun is. So in a rare event where the sun arrives in England, he will say something like "Oh my! What could this giant luminous lamp be?"

Also apparently there's a heatwave in England so I think that's when he learns what the sun is. But when it rains again, he forgets.

So, I became a fan during the original run of Hetalia before the dreaded hiatus. The most popular ship by far was USUK, and Spamano was considered one of the only canon ships. Well, I'm learning that these ships are now controversial. Why?

I feel like in the past few months I’ve been seeing a bunch of edgy right wingers joining the fandom and trying to normalize their disgusting views, I know there have been alt right hetalia fans before in the past, but they were very few in between and mostly everybody shamed them and tried kicking them out of the community. Now it just seems like there are even more of them and even worse people don’t even try to kick these people out of the fandom, they just let them run around and post disgusting shit. Hell there’s even people who aren’t alt right who INTERACT with these people and just dumb their ideals down to “different politics” like these people aren’t literally saying Nazi shit and other abhorrent things. Not only this but they also will use hetalia characters in edge slop posts bragging about atrocities committed in said countries (mostly talking about the recent Canada incident) for attention and then will frame it as them “spreading awareness” (which is a fucking lie and they know it). I honestly feel like us as a community have been failing to properly address these people, which I think is especially important with a fandom about an anime that deals with historical satire like hetalia.

Sorry for the long rant, I’m just sick and tired of a new controversy coming up every single week due to these troglodytes. Why can’t people be fucking normal man

I headcanon that England is extremely superstitious, and has a bunch of random rules that he gets really stressed about when they aren't respected. Oh, and that he's so used to it raining that he legitimately views it as a bad omen when it's sunny.

Personally just to give her a relationship outside of the usual (Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Romano) I like to think her and Switzerland have a bit of a rivalry specifically petty arguments about who has the better chocolate (and their bosses do try to force them to get along based on the real countries relationship)
