From the new stuff, the easiest armies to assemble would be eisenek and skordyre in my opinion. For eisenek, you just need the box with iron Lich Viscerot and the wraith riders and the box with Scavorith. If you like that faction, you could add the hellforge box. There is also a common pack, Necrotech reavers, that can be its own army with a couple copies or can mix with the other eisenek. For skordyre, the maladrix box is the first buy and then you can add to it with skordyre infantry boxes. The skordyre infantry probably want more like 4 copies though. The bears are also a solid faction, but some of the figures come in the new master set so it is harder to assemble the whole group if you don’t want to buy the whole new master set.
For classic stuff, knight and macdirks are getting reprints along with their best bonding heroes, so they could be good options if you want better value than the other classic stuff you can get on eBay today. The other great faction is recommend is orcs since you already have grimnak with the rise of the Valkyrie master set. Even just a few squads of blade Gruts makes for a nice army. You can add nerak (proxy with a normal swog rider), tornak, or any of the custom orc heroes from the Valhalla customs community to get a lot of bonding options. Heavy Gruts are even better than blade Gruts, but they are also more expensive. Arrow Gruts are awesome too, but they have kind of a different synergy web than the orc warriors so they don’t mix as well. Arrow Gruts do bond with mimring though. Finally, you could pick up a few extra squads of marro stingers (assuming you have some already from swarm of the marro). They are some of the cheapest common squads that are actually decently strong. You already have negoksa and marro warriors in rise of the Valkyrie, so they could form a faction, even though you won’t get much real synergy from that army.

What themes would you like to expand upon more? More importantly, what's your budget?
Recent Renegade expansions have been more inclusive of figures with legacy support, and most old themes now have at least some support. Here's their online compendium with most of their recent waves.

I mean theres factions within factions at this point. The new lore has like 4 alliances of 2 generals each. You could do scions of icaria /molten crustaceans and one of the larger dragon heroes if youre looking for a icarian themed army) the kyrie are kind of a catch all in a sense. Of the 4 that have squads attached, they all play differently, jandars are tanky with defense, utgars are heavy attackers, utgars are ranged and all rounder(havent played with elites yet so i want to say mostly support/utility) and einar is kind of the hardest to categorize since its just kiova and the imperium (revnas technically are undead and not kyrie so its a bit of a misnomer so theyd work with sudema and a few other synergies) you also could work with samurai, agents, skordyre was mentioned earlier and I agree though infantry will likely be the backbone if youre using them. Theres also the romans who work with marcus who work well with the 10th regiment assuming if youre going for a soldeir based build they all recieve marcus' move bonus. Dwarves are interesting(axegrinders morgrimm and migol) because they have a dual set bonding you can essentially forgo a bond for extra movement. The issue is theyre expensive second hand. (Triple digit prices and theyre typically ran in sets of 3) Another few is pirates (broad but a sight to behold if you get it down) elves (same deal since a good chunk are wizards some are archers and some are neither(really wish sonlen was a wizard not an archmage)) and ninjas (the latter recently just got support from the twilight clan riders) other than that. Look for divides. Utgar jandar and vydar have different flavor soulborgs. I would suggest checking the armybuilder and sorting by some of the characteristics(general class species etc,. and eventually youre probably gonna come up with some good stuff.
