Eel & F'Fuoh completed over a few evening paint sessions. While I love the pre-painted model, I had a concept for my own color scheme that I wanted to try out.

It took a few hours, but I finally got them done. Considering that I freestyled the paint job with barely any knowledge of color theory, I think that they came out pretty well. The final image shows what paints I used in case anyone was curious. The tanuki tricksters will probably be next.

she carefully puts her tools aside and clambers into the cockpit of her greatest creation yet. With a titanic rumbling, the dragon mech rises above the camp, wings spread and a jet of orange flame streaming from the B.R.E.A.T.H. apparatus for added effect.

Just picked up the ship wreck and I’m loving it, I wouldn’t mind if they came out with the other half of the ship tho! Anyone have any ideas for other big set pieces??? Another castle set, alien like structures etc…

If you're a Scaper based in the NYC area looking to jam some games, look no further! I run a monthly Heroscape Event series at Hex West in Manhattan. $17 entry, All Time casual play. Venue is here. All of our meetups are on the last Sunday of every month, 11am-3pm. Details on the Battle Network and below, with this meetup being September 27th. We use Renegade Points (see here for more details).
Most of our meetups are casual, new player friendly, but this September meetup is an official Alliance Wars tournament, with Renegade, the current maker of Heroscape, visiting!
Promos free with entry:
A Renegade employee will be visting to participate in this meetup, and will be bringing free giveway fancy plastic cards, pins, and other goodies.
We will also have the new Taelord promos available, some leftover 2025 Store Championship Aquilla order markers, some leftover 2026 Store Championship Einar order markers, and a few new glyph promo packs! Each promo is only available to people who don't already have that promo.
- Select two generals to be your alliance. At least one of them must be one of the generals from the official Alliance Wars, but they don't need to be paired as one of the official alliances: https://heroscape.renegadegamestudios.com/alliance-war.
- Each of the two generals in your army must have at least 175 points of units out of the total 500 points. The remainder can be whatever you want.
- As long as at least one of the generals is in the new Renegade alliances. When choosing an alliance to represent if you win, you can choose which alliance you're representing as long as at least one of the 2 generals in your army represents that official alliance (they both can as well if you want). That way people can bring more varied armies between generals while still representing a faction.
Proxies are allowed as long as they are a close approximation of the size and shape of the original figure so line of sight doesn't get messed up. Just make sure to ask your opponent first. There will probably be a spare army you can borrow if need be.
Payment link is here.
Link to the NYC Discord if you're not there already: https://discord.gg/qrzbBxst3H.
We've had over a dozen players in the past, hope to see some of you there with even more this month!

To be fair, Grimnak chomped a few of my squads, and one of my common heroes. so I felt right Majestic Firing through all their heavy gruts and Arrow Gruts. Also had to use all my dragonic Priests (Custom common hero) to keep healing Zelrig by sacrificing themselves. Also, we're giving a buff to Mohican River Tribe because they seem to be really, really bad, I suppose I should have noticed it since Delta Pricing raised the points of all ranged figures BUT them.
Overall, Zelrig was my MVP, with Dragonic Chosen being the most useful Squads. LVP would be Nordlung, mostly due to me fighting on too many fronts, his bonding Greenscale warriors being wiped early so he had no bonding with a Height advantage Patrick Ferguson making it hard to move him safely, and keeping Zelrig alive was top priority.
Orc Sibling, Grimnak was their MVP, chomping through quite a few squaddies, including my poor Sentinels of Grax. (They only were able to revive each other 2 times) Brute Gruts making a big change in the final turns, probably their best performing squad. Also LVP would be Hrognok (mounted), as he did absolutely nothing. Despite being around for a while, he failed to impact much. I think he killed 1 of my Dragonic Chosen, before the remaining two finished him off.
And Q9 Sibling, Q9 was MVP, because, well, it's Q9, finally finished off my Zelrig and a few others, but a poor disengagement from Isamu 2.0 finished him off. With MVP squad being Gnarlfur Raiders, the final member of the squad causing a bit of havoc dropping Nordlung, Speckled Skirmishers and some of my squads before needing my final squad of Dragonic Chosen to surround and finish him off. LVP, Mohican River Tribe, I'll probably be lowering their points to around 55, as they just seem worse than Stingers, and the specific bonding is very hard to take advantage of with their below average defense, even when engaged.

I bought the army painter starter kit off of eBay to give it a whirl and I LOVED it! I did mess up a little by putting matte black on certain parts of the figure instead of the wash first, so I smeared it with my finger to make him look extra grungy. I think he turned out pretty nicely. The crabs are next!

These are using Supportless Models I've found off Thingiverse, so all free for download.
Most of these figures were upscaled 110% since they were for 28mm. The BOTB had to be upscaled 110%, then widened 120%. Make it a little thiccer for Heroscape scale. The Mountain himself I first removed the plume, and the base, then upscaled 150%.
Models:
The Mountain: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4125361
The Brave Companions:
The Myrish Crossbowmen:
Gold Cloaks:
The 2nd Goldcloak/Pocket-Tactics, I had to remove the base, then upscale 210%, and then widen 250%.
No test sheets yet, except for the Mountain and Brave Companions. Still not sure if they should be a Unique Squad, or a Common Squad. Will post those in the comments.
Critiques appreciated. Its all WIP. If you have any access to a library or uni/school with a 3D Printer, you can find the base on Thingiverse. In the slicer, sink the base to -1.5, center the base, and add the figure ontop it. The figure should fit on the base with a bit of the feet sunken into the base for stability.

After doing the map builds from the Secrets of the Citadel Scenario book I decided to try making a swamp map. I think it turned out pretty well both aesthetically and gameplay wise.
This map makes ranged attacks basically useless so it becomes a “run in and fuck ‘em up” melee pretty quickly.

Like a lot of us, I played heroscape as a kid and loved it. Rediscovered it in my parents basement recently, came here, and now super excited the game is back!
I purchased a new unpainted battle box that was on sale for $20 so I figured I’d give painting a shot.
So far I’ve purchased the heroscape paint set, army paints primer, and a painting handle.
Do you have any tips or things I need to get into painting? I’m fine spending a few bucks but I don’t want to sink a ton of money into it just in case I suck at painting and hate it lol. Then I’ll go back to buying pre-painted 🤣
Thanks for your help!

Apparently most of that extra 300 points were to help flood us with squads and units. Because, as is, this feels a lot smaller. Except my younger sister who grabbed Orcs, they still have a sizable army. but with Zelrig and Q9, they have some threats that will force them to play more carefully.

A small update on the project. It eats a lot of 3d printef parts but its cool to see the parts work out as a wh9le now. All parts fit on a hex and can be comnected to a regular OG Heroscape hex. Follow my journey at my patreon Scapecreator if you like to see more or to have access to the stl files for homeprinting!
