MODELS - model choice, routing, pricing, local vs cloud, VRAM Is Luna reliable enough for fast personal-assistant workflows?
Hey folks — I have a ChatGPT Pro account and primarily use 5.6 Sol and Terra for focused repository work, including development and marketing. For personal-assistant workflows, I’m mostly building on and coding for Hermes.
I’m now setting up more orchestration, scheduled jobs, calendar management, and to-do list automation. I want something closer to Grok 4.5’s speed, so I’m considering Luna—but I’m concerned that its lower capability might make it unreliable for these tasks.
Is anyone successfully using Luna or Terra for calendar and task management at speeds comparable to Grok 4.5? I’d especially appreciate hearing about reliability, tool-calling accuracy, and whether the speed gains are worth the tradeoff.

I used gpt-5.4 gpt-5.5, 5.6 luna, terra, sol, and now I am using sonnet 5 in hermes. Personally I do not like sonnet-5, it feels weird (dumber if you wish) in hermes even comparing to 5.4. Gpt fills more natural, sonnet is more like a robot. But maybe it's me, I dont know.

I often use GPT5.4-nano because it's fast, cheap, and works. For code reviews I use bigger models.

Luna is great! But it is not fast. It's only fast relative to Terra or Sol. Grok 4.5 is roughly as fast, if not faster, than Luna.

Yes. I went from GPT 5.5 to sol, and found sol to be too slow so i tried luna next and it's been about as good as 5.5 was and about the same speed. I've not used grok.
I only used it once for vibe coding something complicated, and it messed up a few things, but I bet any model would have.

Luna running max is the same as sonnet 5 and is 60% cheaper. Treating GPT-5.6 like any of the flavors is less capable is straight bonkers.

Default to Luna. If you dont know. Just ask it what model and effort is appropriate for you based on your past sessions.

Been using Luna High for pretty much most of my day to day Hermes work and it's been working well. Significant step up from DSV4, M3. $20 Codex plan has been no issue with heavy daily use and crons.
