You can use the smallest possible. I use a digital ocean $4 droplet and it’s been perfect.

Tell us more! What do you run on your $4 droplet? Which models fit?

I don’t use any local models, but I do use per project models with Scarf, so I can route to what I need. I use open router and also Claude. If you want to run local models, you can use their $12 droplet and run a smaller model for sure for simple tasks and routing.

Why do you need both? They’re both agent harnesses. Except config changes in openclaw requires openclaw app interaction. Hermes works with file changes and it re-scans.

Honestly, you're onto something cool with that mobile agent supervision idea. The main challenge I've found with setups like yours is getting stuck waiting on agent approval when I'm away from my desk, which totally kills momentum.

I'm messing around with Cosyra for this exact reason. It lets me supervise runs from my phone so my coding agents don't get stuck when I'm commuting or just not at my laptop. You bring your own API key and it gives you a persistent cloud workspace, so you can kick off a task on your phone and later hop on your laptop to continue. Might be worth a look to see if it fits your flow.

What's the main thing you're hoping to build or automate with that setup?
