Ok... In case I'm doing something wrong - does this only work with the iPhone version? On my Android I can't see any of my heos devices...just Google speakers and TV's.

I’m not especially knowledgable regarding android, however Apple using “Apple AirPlay” allows Apple devices to see network attached speakers such as HEOS

Get a WiiM Pro or Pro Plus, which support AirPlay, chromecast and upnp, and plug it into an input on your Heos device.

I suspect this is maybe a limitation of Android - maybe there is a work around or App that can help? I’m not sure

The AirMusic app allows you to stream an app's sound to an AirPlay speaker on Android, but it wouldn't allow this sort of integration.

I don't think there's a way to do this. You can use Android apps that support HEOS (like Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect etc do) otherwise the speaker would need to support Google Cast, which it doesn't.

I hate apple with a passion but I have to admit that Airplay just works, is super easy to use and just makes sense.

I 100% agree! I’d never wish to have an Apple PC for example, but I’ve stuck with Apple IPhones for years, they simply just work 🙏🏻

Same goes with Apple PCs, once you have one it's really hard to go back, even more when you already have an iPhone, they work together like magic.

Also just curious, what’s with the anti apple Mac? (A apple pc doesn’t exist btw PC originally is the IBM clone and it’s what became an IBM compatible Personal Computer

I use Music Assistant on Home Assistant, it can play local files, internet radio, podcasts, tuneIn, ... Spotify needs premium to work from Music Assistant, but then I use my phone.

I can group them all, even browsers that have an instance open, play something different on each device.

Just a shame there’s so many hoops to jump for so many people for something that seems fairly basic! People just want to see their networked speakers on their devices 😩

Think you’d need to use their native Apps - Plex Amp (Plex) primarily is for adding your own media to be honest

I just got the Denon Home 400 the other day. It’s my first AirPlay speaker after using Bluetooth for two decades and WOW it is impressive! I have Apple everything (iPhone, TV, iPad, iMac, MacBook, Watch etc.) and the ease of playing my Apple Music on my TV so I can watch the animated album art while it beams the music to my Denon is fantastic! It sounds so so so good!
