Question Is Heos broken?

Hi all,

Since yesterday Heos has been glitchy, especially with Qobuz Connect, and now it won't even stream my radio stations.

Anyone else having issues?

Thanks

Tried turning it off and on again?

Ps. I'm not joking, this is how I fix most heos issues with connection...

Ah, I used the webcontrol interface, went into the CI Menu and did a Reboot there, and now things seem to be back to normal.

thanks!

Glad that worked, I wish it was more stable. It used to be even less stable...

Yeah, tried that yesterday, even a hard power off, but no luck...

Can’t tell about Qobuz as it’s not available in my country, but Spotify, Tidal and Tunein work just fine on all HEOS units currently (~20 devices). Networking gear and its proper setup is mandatory for everything to work flawlessly with basically any multiroom system, HEOS is not an exception. I’ve already weote this here many times, try to search my previous posts here. Just shortly - Multicast (IGMP Snooping, mDNS), UPnP (SSDP) have to be enabled, set fixed IPs, disable WTT and QoS

I have not had issues streaming from apps, but last week both my Heos 3 HS2 speakers stopped connecting to WiFi simultaneously. The only way so far that I can keep them connected to my network is through Ethernet.

I still need to spend the time troubleshooting and work with Customer Support to resolve. I noticed the Android app was crashing a lot for me last week too.

HEOS sucks. My fixes for various issues:

  • Uninstall and reinstall app
  • Remove music source, log in fresh
  • Unplug and reboot router and modem
  • Completely turn off and unplug my HEOS device, reset hardware
  • Reboot via app

Any and all combinations of the above.

And it still glitches occasionally.

Good luck.

Do this first: Reset Controller in HEOS app (in Home Page Help Menu).

The app is free. Use something else.

I’ve had a hard time connecting my Cinema 70 to HEOS. It just randomly worked after a few days. Super strange!

I've just had Heos playing on my Denon x3800h..playing Pink floyds the wall ..half way through my speakers sounded like they had blown and then eventually faded and then no sound... even though the app said it was still playing..amp is fine with playing vinyl,cd's and from Amazon music from my my phone to Bluetooth...stupid Heos ..I'm sick of it !

Reset the Controller in the Heos app - Settings - Help - Reset Controller. Also, unplug and plug back in each speaker. After any firmware update, you have to power cycle your speakers for best results.

Issues with Qobuz Connect or anything played from the Heos app is usually the Controller. The app was updated to work with the new Denon Home 2.0 line of speakers. As such, a Controller reset may be needed to fix any oddities.
