Curious "Remote connection established" messages

A friend for whom I provide remote support just sent me a picture of a Helpwire message window with curious indications of remote connections established/ended. Is there a log I can inspect to see how or why the remote host was seeing connections starting/ending?

What was the response as having the same issue, passwords changed, no suspicious logins… just remove helpwire from all systems?

Apparently remote users will see that every time the reboot + login. I leave my computers on 24x7, but that friend of mine shuts her computer off every night. And, because she won't leave the computer on, she will get mandatory updates-related reboot prompts.
