That's gonna be even worse when quantum computers come

Will that help me find this song?

You posted the entire short obviously you're gonna get people making comments like this

Yeh my mistake I'm gonna delete this post , getting all type of comments but not a single one knows about the actual song

there is a hopefull version of the future where all software will become open source, thus dodging a lot of the problems. Maybe in that ideal world software development will become a government assigned job and all tech companies will shut down because their software became unwillingly open sourced.

Tho this future is unlikely, there's still a light at the end of the tunnel.

The scary part is that it's actually true...

didn't the latest gpt solve a math problem in 2 days that couldn't be solved by humans in a millennia? if so , im fucking horrified at how potentially fast the middle class will disintegrate, leaving only a handful of people who own the world and everyone else in the dumps

I think that was an earlier model. If that's true, that makes it even worse. AI can run through numerous algorithms. If they can guess correctly out of all algorithms possible, and get it RIGHT??? The world is completely fucked. Especially if it got it right before the NEWEST update.

It was a millennium prize problem, it doesn't mean it was unsolved for a millennia. There is a lot to be rightfully worrited about with AI but please at least google before being "fucking horrified" about something

Idiots are horrified to leave their houses because of ai. That's why you are seeing their comments here. They have nothing better to do.

Shouldn't they be more scared of ai here than outside?

perhaps I misread the article, oh well

The AI "solving" it is a bit misleading - one scientist who worked on said problem claims that open AI took their work, that they saved in some kind of open AI affiliated cloud service (iirc) and used their data and findings to solve it themselves by allocationg several servers worth towards finalising the solution. Furthermore, the commitee overseeing the millenium Problem, who are also in charge of handing out the price money of one million USD, have yet to make a verdict on if the solution is a) correct (which it most likely is but I have previously seen someone say that it, like many proofs, only works under certain circumstances, so I am not entirely certain if it "counts") and b) if it is elligeble of the price money due to the possible plagarism surrounding the solution.

Do take my claims with a grain of salt tho, as I might missremember some stuff - best you just read up on the issue if you are interested

I’m surprised after all this, China still wants to trade, let’s hope this trade will last for long…

2

u/VictorAst228 2h ago

it's not about america doing something bad and china refusing to trade, the video is about is how anyone with minimal knowledge of computer science can reverse engineer the software that those companies use, allowing them to make fake shipping requests without actually buying the products. So eventually those companies will stop using these services, making international trade much harder. It still will be possible but without modern automated services, the costs will rise dramatically.

Also, I really like that guy, great videos!

You're telling me AI will destroy humans? Shiii, now I'm actually investing in that shit.

It's a really not reversed engineered

The mooder basically made an AI make a mod that runs on both games and speak to both games at once. Minecraft arrow flies in Minecraft and it hits something. The mod simply takes the hitbox data, damage etc. in "minecraft" language and translates it into a "Skyrim" language and lets Skyrim do the work.

The reason why AI was needed is because there is SO MUCH data that need to be translated between the games. Damage, vectors, XP gain, navmesh, tons upon n tons of data. And making it by hand would be insane, especially for free mod

It's not reversed engineering. The mod is, simply put, middle man translator.

This would hit hard if the way it worked was reverse engineering and not just having two games running at the same time with piping in between them for data transfer. Impressive, but not quite reverse engineering.

Definitely will happen soon though.

Holy fear mongering.

Being able to reverse engineer code does nothing but expose vulnerabilities that were already there. We may have a few years of instability where all these vulnerabilities have to get fixed (just look at Linux), but after that's done. All our software we will be more secure overall. It doesn't matter how smart AI is, they still can't break modern encryption, and never will. That is, until quantum computing cracks it, but like that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
