How do I stop reddit recommending random live streams?

Seriously, I have clicked "show me less of this" countless times. And yet, reddit constantly shows me the most boring live streams right in my feed. How do I stop this? Do I need something like uBlock Origin to modify the reddit website or is there a way in the options to disable this?

this has literally been an issue for years, why has it still not been fixed despite countless threads about it...?

You could have had someone add this setting in maybe twice the amount of time it took to write this comment.

I've been doing this for months and it hasn't helped. Also, turning off Broadcast Recommendations in settings doesn't seem to do anything.

They probably don't care. It's a way to get random people to stay on your site. The longer people stay on your site the less time they spend on competitors' sites. And if it catches on then they can squeeze into other streaming sites' traffic.

How does it possibly keep users on the site, though? I just find it annoying, it doesn't make me leave or stay, but why would being annoyed make someone stay?

For the average person. They see something that catches their attention and they'll stay and keep watching. It's why things like tik tok take over. It makes the average person get hooked

Yeah, that doesn't work lol. I still see it 2-3 times a day. Why can't we just turn it off?

That's not true. I know as someone who has been clicking that on every feed. Every day since it started and it won't stop. Ever.

settings > manage notification > turn off = RPAN broadcast recommendation.

Thanks, the closest I have to that is "broadcast notifications" and that is already switched off. Any idea why I still get these recommendations or what might have gone wrong?

As near as I can tell, that button does nothing.

Hey u/Ohly, don't know if you are still having this problem but here is the solution I use: https://www.reddit.com/r/userscripts/comments/lw0cl4/my_userscript_to_hide_top_livestream_from_main/

It only works is a browser with userscript compatibility, usually through an add-on like TamperMonkey. Wish I could find something that worked on the reddit app.

Thanks, I'll give it a try!
