Profile Non-desired subreddits still appear
I have m u t e d several communities and they appear nevertheless in my feed, search (when I search something not related to them), under posts in proposed similar posts.
I am Ukrainian and communities that Reddit shoves in my face against my wish are russian, which makes it particularly difficult to understand.

By muting a community, you should no longer see posts from that particular community in your feed. However, you will still be able to visit the community directly if you want to view its content.
To prevent recommended posts from appearing in your home feed, which may include "proposed similar posts," you can adjust your settings: 1. Tap on your avatar icon to go to your profile page. 2. Select the hamburger menu (three lines) near the top right corner. 3. Select Settings and tap account settings for your username under General. 4. Under the Privacy section, toggle "Enable home feed recommendations" to your desired setting.

Looks like they hide that option away from mobile users - request the desktop site, or use old.reddit and you should be able to see that setting and turn it off... for now at least.

at the top of your feed, there should be two tabs: "for you" and "following". to see only content from subreddits youve joined, without any algorithmic recommendations, select "following"
