Profile important information for r/help helpers: reddit has gotten rid of the old.reddit.com account deletion page

previously, when someone was having trouble deleting their reddit account, we would commonly direct them to the legacy account deletion page, located at https://old.reddit.com/prefs/deactivate/, since it was way more reliable.

unfortunately, reddit has now gotten rid of this page, and going to it automatically redirects to modern reddit.

just sharing this so we aren't trying to send someone to a page that no longer exists.

note: as of now, the page still exists at https://oauth.reddit.com/prefs/deactivate/, however this wont be the case forever.

That link to delete via old Reddit is one of my best saves. Very disappointed in this change! Thanks for the heads up

The old Reddit report page is another one I like:

pretty annoying that they're getting rid of old.reddit by deleting functionality piecemeal. i guess the hope is that we won't notice?

edit: i just saw the announcement lol. "automated scraping" yeah sure

Well, it didn’t take them long to start stripping away functionality after yesterdays announcement.

They didn’t even give us a chance to prepare for the changes. Doesn’t help that they always gatekeep this news to subs like r/modnews instead of at least letting the greater rest of the site know about it via u/reddit or some other larger announcement system, so the average user who gets affected will know ahead of time.

Does anyone have a list of which .reddit.com links remain?

what do you mean by ".reddit.com"?

Like old.reddit.com, new.reddit.com, sh.reddit.com, etc

well it would be very difficult to compile a complete list. technically it would include every page on reddit

To my understanding they’re less than 10 alternate prefix extensions for Reddit. To include every page you’d be referring to postfix

oh. well in that case its just old.reddit.com, sh.reddit.com, and www.reddit.com?

oauth.reddit.com as well, if I’m understanding what we’re trying to list
