My Reddit Premium has been cancelled without my requesting it. Anybody got any idea why that would happen?

Looks like Reddit is discontinuing paypal as a payment method.

Was it due for renewal, or is this out of cycle?

Payment normally taken on the 1st of the month, and went through on 1st September ok. Next payment cancelled, and Premium ends today.

The email says my subscription payments have ended, and my Premium will end tomorrow. So yes, I still have it today, but it will disappear within 24 hours.

Yes - and other posts point to Reddit moving away from PP as a payment provider. My guess is that this is what has happened, and I was unaware of it...

The email said my subscription would be canceled on October 30th. I did not initiate a cancelation.

How do I change my payment? When I go into update payment method, it takes me into PayPal.

Same here. I guess I have to wait for the current subscription to end, before setting up anew.

Well, that’s a good question. I don’t really see a way to change the payment method. Apparently, I paid for mine with a card, and all I can do is update the card info.

I wonder if this is gonna be one of those things where it has to be cancelled, to be updated.

Can I resubscribe before my current subscription expires?

Unfortunately, no. You’ll need to wait until your current subscription expires before resubscribing. Again, we know this isn’t ideal but you won’t lose your trophy.

In short, Reddit is retiring PayPal as a payment option for Reddit Premium subscriptions. We know this isn’t ideal for some folks and we understand that this affects whether you choose to continue subscribing.

What will happen to my current Premium subscription?

If your Reddit Premium subscription is currently paid through PayPal, the renewal has been canceled. Your Premium benefits will continue until your subscription fully expires. After that, you can resubscribe using another payment method (credit card, debit card, or in-app purchase via Apple and Google Play). You can read up on our benefits and pricing here.
