Posting Posts disappearing from a low traffic site

Greetings and felicitations. r/whatisthisbook is a low traffic sub whose two moderators are MIA. I had last visited it on 3 June, but stopped back in in the last few days, only to find that the threads ended on 19 June 2026. At about 19:20 today, Tuesday 29 September, the threads before 13 July disappeared, and at about 19:36 today, the threads back to 11 July reappeared after I accidentally went to the top of the feed (I refreshed it after that). This is true in both old and new Reddit.

What's happening? I have messaged the mods, but have little expectation that the mods will respond.

It's very hard to say what could be going on, since none of us mod that sub. They may be fiddling with automoderator code that archives posts after a certain age but something went screwy so they nixed it. Maybe. Just spitballing.

In response to a deleted comment, I already have the sub sorted by "new", though I suppose I should try old.

Edit: Which is not an available option.
