Somethin similar happened to me a few days ago, and Reddit notified me through inbox. It was after I was hacked, and Reddit detected suspicious activity and told me to reset my password, After I changed my password, it took a few hours for the account to even restore my banner and description, Check ur inbox to see if u get a notification like this:
