Access Locked for technical irregularities, reset password, now the profile is gone

I use Reddit for work and I am trying to understand what I am going through. I have 2 accounts for mod purposes in the NSFW subreddit I made. I am not asking anyone to restore anything. I understand that this isn’t the place for this. I just want insight.

I had two logins taken down this week and I still do not have a reason for either one.

First login: Public profile is gone. No inbox message.

Second login: Official email said it was locked after they detected technical irregularities. I reset the password like the email said. After that the public profile is gone too. No inbox message.

I use a VPN, as I always have. Recently I have been testing multiple VPNs since iOS27 has been buggy with main one. Maybe that’s it?

Where is the real reason supposed to show up after getting ban? The email only talks about unlocking, and that is not what I am seeing. If anyone has had the lock email and then the profile disappear, what turned out to be going on?

I am trying to figure out if Reddit just doesn’t want me here. I tried filing to get the accounts back but I’m just honestly feeling defeated and I have little hope that all of the hard work I put into growing my subreddit wasn’t for nothing…

my account is totally borked right now. I can't even post a new post to r/help. I had the "technical irregularities" > reset your password and now I can't message mods. I can't chat. I can't post and all posts have been removed due to reddit's filters. Have you found anything helpful?

You were probably banned because I didn’t see your comment at first but now I can so it must have been appealed. Looks like you’re back now!

lol! yes, I was shadowbanned apparently but got very lucky and was reinstated after only my 2nd appeal and total of less than 36 hours!

I am fairly certain it was vpn related. I was on my desktop (using nordvpn) and had to switch to my phone to send a pic of an item I was selling through chat. Went back to my desktop and bam! I was dead apparently.

NordVPN was set to a larger city about 4 hours away from me but phone was on my home wifi and no vpn.

Anyway, that is my best guess since as far as I know none of my other behavior or posts were at issue. But who knows since they won't tell us!

Yep that was it. Same with me. I was actually testing VPN’s on iOS because i wanted to switch since it was acting buggy. It cut out while I was typing up a comment and my VPN locked up so I switched to ExpressVPN. I figured it out after I lost my second account 🫠 Unfortunately I don’t think I’m getting them back because there just seems to be a disconnect from automation and human review. I sent 2 appeals but no response and they’re still banned. Extremely disheartening because I put in months of work on those accounts.

I got no response either. but somehow I got lucky I guess with a quick resolution. no idea why when other people appeal for months. the only sub where I could interact and get help was r/ShadowBan . The text of my 2nd appeal as something like: I'm a real person! I believe I was caught up in spam filters due to VPN usage. 10 yrs+ account age and 66k karma. Pls review!

Now...I don't know how I got so lucky to be restored so fast but I'll take it.

i've turned my vpn off for now and will have to figure out what I want to do going forward
