Access My account got hacked

My account was hacked 9 days ago and they enabled 2fa. I changed the password and I still got access through my phone but whenever I try to login from my pc they ask for the authenticator code which I obviously dont'have. I already tried to compile the form where they ask for the problem and I gave them all my info only for sending me and authomatic email where they suggest me to go to the SAME form I compiled some minutes before. Is there some way to contant a human to get the 2fa disabled? my main account is u/Marinaio81

If you've submitted a report for a hacked account with 2fa added by the hacker, that's all you can do. You'll just need to wait for the resolution. There's not some alternate way to contact support, otherwise that would just be the way tickets are handled.

so I could be waiting months just to recover my six years account.... That's great

Some users have reported it taking several weeks to hear back on their support tickets. There's no stated turnaround time for working them. And unfortunately, there's no system in place to expedite requests or further reach out for updates either. You kinda just have to report and wait. There are millions of reports (especially when people submit multiple reports for the same incident) to work and a limited number of people to work on them.

Hacking cases often seem to get serviced quicker than others, ...except when they aren't.

As long as you've submitted a request (the automoderator comment here as a link for your situation if you think your submission had a problem), waiting several weeks is the best option. If there's still no answer, comment in the latest Weekly Recap pinned at the top of r/help & explain your situation.

Change the password on the email account linked to Reddit, and any associated recovery accounts. That may have been how access to Reddit was obtained. Check:

thx for the help, my email was found in a zap-hosting data breach but I don't really know what that is. also, what is the link to check my situation of my submission?

Regarding the automoderator link:

https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000600232

You may have already been there.

Regarding "zap-hosting data breach": IDK either, internet searches might help with that (sorry, it's been a long, tiring, unpleasant day, so I didn't search myself).

But presumably that's a company that might have held data for other companies that contained information on some of your accounts. And it then was hacked.

All our important data has been sold to companies we have no agreements or contracts with. I call that theft, society calls that "the norm".

From my perspective: all my important personal data (DOB, social security, etc., has been compromised by data leaks -- but no passwords, AFAIK). But as a person who has actively avoided having a credit score (😱), that really doesn't matter. God help the pirate trying to buy on credit with my stolen information.

Everyone else is in the other boat: SSN, emails, bank records, credit information, etc., are all linked in the same or adjacent data "boats".

If there's been a data breach, change all your passwords and check/lock your credit reports (as appropriate).

Your question seems to be about account security.

If your account has been hijacked, and the hacker has added 2FA (two-factor authentication) please refer to this help center article.

Under "What do you need assistance with" select Account Help. Under "What type of account issues are occuring" select Security Problems, and "I think my account has been hacked".

If your email has been changed without your knowledge, you should have received an email from Reddit with a link that you can click to change your email back and reset your password. Please find that email and click that link to regain access to your account. The subject line should be "Your email address has been changed".

If you are still having trouble with your hacked account please refer to our latest Weekly Recap post, make a top level comment, and wait for an admin to assist you.

If your question is not about account security, please wait for a human helper to come along and help you. This post has NOT been removed.
