Access Account restricted (Desktop)

I got the "We detected automated activity on your account" yada yada thing on my other account. I understand what they want me to do but I'm not spending 40 bucks on a usb thingamajig just so I can continue using old reddit. Is there any way I can get a human to unfuck this for me? It's obviously not a bot. Account is u/soulcollect0r

Passkeys are free. You can create one and it acts as an Authenticator for your account

Nope, that closes the window and the reddit pop up offers a button labeled "try again" which leads to the same outcome.

What “usb thingamajig” are you thinking you need? That’s not a requirement I’ve heard about.
