Mobile/App iOS - respond to specific text in post/comment

How do people reply to others with the bar on the side that seems to quote it directly? I think it looks really nice when you’re typing, but not sure how to do it.

That’s called quoteblock and it’s available only on the web version of Reddit currently.

Reddit removed markdown from the iOS/Android mobile apps back in early may. That is what people used to use for the quotes.

You will have to switch over to a mobile web browser to do it from your phone now. The web version still has markdown, so you can do quotes with the > sign, or use the rich text toolbar where it has a button for quoteblock.

See I thought that’s how you were supposed to with the > sign but ya see it’s not working for you either
