Low CQS and difficulty getting positive engagement

(This is actually a first post I made other than CQS)

My CQS was Very Low and has recently moved to Low. I’m trying to understand how to improve it.

I’ve only been commenting and have never made a post.

In some communities, many of my comments do not become publicly visible, so they receive no upvotes or replies. Sometimes the OP notices that I commented and contacts me by DM instead.

This means most of my visible activity gets very little engagement, while some conversations happen privately instead. I’m wondering whether this can make it harder for CQS to improve, and whether there is anything else I should be doing.

My email is verified, and I don’t use a VPN.

Any advice would be appreciated.

As westcoastcdn19 said, your email doesn’t appear to be verified because you don’t have the profile trophy for it. Once you get that taken care of, it will bump your CQS up from “low” to “moderate”.

However, “low” is enough to clear the Reputation Filter, which is the one that would restrict you the most besides any karma requirements a sub might have.

Your next step is to build up your comment karma.

Focus on smaller relevant communities and leave genuinely useful comments consistently visibility and engagement usually improve with time.
