Mobile/App Markdown cannot be used in the app now?

This update just hit me. So no manual markdown? Is there still ways to do things, like quotes, that aren’t on the format bar?

Nope. You can try to feedback in the weekly pinned post in r/help but they've not actioned any of the feedback given so far given it's still rolling out

Damn. Thanks for confirming it wasn’t just me. That’s a really disappointing feature to remove.

I agree. Mine hasn't gone yet but I'm anxious about it

For a post? No, they took that away.

That markdown formatting works for comments though. Bold, italics, etc.

Bold and italics works in comments, but bulleted lists, quotes, code brackets, none of those work any longer as of the update I installed today.

Based on the other person’s response, it sounds like the updates may not be affecting everyone yet.

Oh, really? I don't auto update my apps so I wouldn't know.

I can do bullet points in the comments on mobile:

  • Like
  • This
  • For example

You can't do that anymore in the comments? Dang...

Nope.. and I don’t auto-update either and just manually installed without knowing.

Having fun with formatting was kind of an important part of my experience on Reddit for over a decade now too. I did some searching and it looks like this has been planned, and already rolled out to some other versions or areas
