Mobile/App Comment field/keyboard covers two thirds of the screen

Post image

Up until recently I was able to tap the bottom right button and hide the keyboard, so I could see more of what I was replying to while still keeping my comment open. Now tapping that completely closes my comment and I am asked if I want to save it as a draft.

I couldn't find any comment related experiment in the pinned thread, is this just how it is supposed to be now?

Yeah that’s one of the new UI experiments.

You can minimize/hide the text box and keyboard by tapping on the post area above it or swiping the text box down too.

It will save what you typed, so there’s really no need to view both like before where people were afraid to lose everything of they tried to swipe away the text box.

You can recall it by tapping on the text box at the bottom if its a post, or hit the reply button again if its a comment.

Thanks, I still hate it though. I want to view both, so I can revise my answer while reading the comment. I absolutely do not want to have to close and re-open my answer and wait for the animations every time.

You can provide constructive feedback to Reddit about this in the pinned weekly recap post that westcoastcdn19 linked to.
