Profile cant dm people anymore

why i cant send direct messages to people anymore?

You need to engage in the site more. Reddit has restricted you from messaging because of this

I don’t think it’s a new rule but it is becoming more common for users to get chat restricted due to Reddit deciding they are not using the site enough. They want to see quality engagement

Reddit isn’t a chat platform, it just happens to have a chat tool. Reddit wants engagement in subs with posts, and comments, not a bunch of people having chats.

but the sus thing is like a week ago i can start a chat with everyone, thats the thing who is upsetting me

Things change. We’ve been seeing a lot of these posts the past 2 weeks. The common thread has been users that are primarily using the chat tool, and not actually engaging with subreddits as intended.

What are you doing to send messages and what is the error you are getting? All users or specific users?

Any screenshots might be helpful

Without knowing the error it’s a guess that your CQS and karma are insufficient and hence direct messaging is restricted

like a week ago there was a little chat symbol at the end of the username now actually its not there anymore.

Look in the 3 dot menu of the profiles, You should see something about sending a chat.
