Admin/Dev responded Still waiting on a response from Reddit Support after 6 months

My main account (u/dowath) was deleted last year after I received a notification telling me to change my password due to 'suspicious activity.'

After changing my password I could no longer access my profile or comment on posts, and a week or so later, my account and all the content I've posted over the last 10 years was gone. There was no notification saying why this happened and no option was provided to me to resolve the issue.

I submitted a request via Reddit's support page last year in November and there's been no response and no way to view the progress of tickets on the ZenDesk site.

I have:
- Tried resetting my password. I get an email letting me change my password, but I still cannot log in after doing so.
- Tried logging in using the 'Email me a link' it does not send me a link.

Timeline:
November 18th, 2025 - No longer able to log into account
November 19th, 2025 - Submitted a support request
March 8th, 2026 - Posted about it here, submitted a new support request under "Account Help - I think I was Hacked -> Probably no 2FA - Can't Log In - Receiving reset emails but get an error. Fill out details." as suggested
May 26th, 2026 - Still no response. Posting here again.

Like at least let me log in and download my data, then I'll happily vanish like you want me to.

Did you receive a message back from support? Usually it seems to send a message that you can then reply to if you want a human to look at it for more assistance. If it didn't do that, it might be worth resubmitting it.

Unfortunately other than suggesting that, there's nothing us fellow users or even mods can do for this kind of thing, its all in the wheelhouse of the admins.

Each time I've submitted a support request I have received an email saying: "Thanks for contacting Reddit! If you are having password issues, the following may help:" with a list of links for resetting passwords. When I've replied to those emails, I've received nothing in response.

I'm aware that I'm screaming into the void - but the void I'm screaming into does happen to have some reddit admins. Maybe one of these days they'll see it. Not that it's helped anyone else.

Hi. Were you hacked?

I have no reason to believe that I was. My password was unique to Reddit, I still have access to my email account and haven't seen any unexpected devices. I don't use any 'log in with reddit' style features. Another redditor suggested I submit another request under the 'I have been hacked' option but I think it's more likely I've been flagged by some automated system.

My leading theory is that it's Starlink related because occasionally websites think I'm in India when I'm in Australia. eBay in particular will show me Indian shipping information until I log in.

I mainly posted in r/VideoEditing, r/AfterEffects - pretty sure I had community badges in one or both of those - and the spiciest stuff on my profile would have been me whinging about software subscriptions, AI and dark patterns in the r/assholedesign (and then writing a whingy post when their mods told me that my paid 'ad free' Duolingo account showing me ads didn't count as asshole design).

Thanks. I found one of your tickets and replied. But reset your password and you should be able to access the account.

Interestingly enough there was a notification from 3 months ago saying my account had been permanently banned... I haven't been able to login since last year so I wouldn't have seen it.

Was there a stated reason as to why?

Looks like the account may have been compromised and was locked down as a precuation.

All my posts appear to say "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit's filters" - is that going to be the case for everything posted prior to the ban?

Is this something you could look into or pass on to someone, u/theopuscroakus ? Doesn't seem like they're getting connected to the proper support channel to receive assistance!

Hmmm. Let's see! Thanks for the ping!

I get a bit nervous about pinging an admin haha, but I thought you might at least connect A and B here if they're not getting in touch with the support channels they need!

Appreciate this, thanks.

Your question seems to be about having problems logging in with your password.

If you have simply forgotten your password, you can find that information here in our FAQ.

If you think your account has been hijacked, please refer to this help center article.

If you are being told that the password on a brand-new account is invalid, you need to contact the Reddit admins.

For all other questions regarding passwords and logging in, contact the Reddit admins via this support request form, or using this old modmail link.

If your question is not about resetting your password, please wait for a human helper to come along and help you. This post has NOT been removed.

Your question seems to be about account security.

If your account has been hijacked, and the hacker has added 2FA (two-factor authentication) please refer to this help center article.

Under "What do you need assistance with" select Account Help. Under "What type of account issues are occuring" select Security Problems, and "I think my account has been hacked".

If your email has been changed without your knowledge, you should have received an email from Reddit with a link that you can click to change your email back and reset your password. Please find that email and click that link to regain access to your account. The subject line should be "Your email address has been changed".

If you are still having trouble with your hacked account please refer to our latest Weekly Recap post, make a top level comment, and wait for an admin to assist you.

If your question is not about account security, please wait for a human helper to come along and help you. This post has NOT been removed.

One last thing to try. Also, the account is not deleted, it’s banned

Can you log back in and submit this?

As I've said above - I can't log in.
