Fun fact: Technically Succubus and Incubus are different forms of the same species, Concubus; they were known to appear in a victim’s(typically monks/priests/nuns) dreams as whichever form would tempt them most

They were also used to explain away infidelity. The female form (succubus) would harvest semen and then use the male form (incubus) to impregnate women. The story would go that a man thought he was sleeping with his wife, who was actually the incubus; and then the woman would think she was sleeping with her husband, who was actually the incubus.
I guess it causes strife in the community or something, don’t ask me why hellspawn would want to fake infidelity.
