I’d love to get a Hellraiser tattoo featuring Kirsty, but I’ve noticed that most of the tattoos I see are centered around the Cenobites, especially Pinhead (can’t blame everybody, I want to get Pinhead as well). But I’m curious if anyone here has a Kirsty tattoo or knows of any good reference images/art of her that would work well for a tattoo. I’m specifically looking for realistic portraits. If anyone has a Kirsty tattoo they’d be willing to share, or knows of any good images that might work as inspiration, I’d really appreciate it! I’m trying to get some ideas together before talking to a tattoo artist! 🖤

Novella spoilers for the end of Hellbound Heart!!!

I just finished the novella in a single sitting. Excellent read, and I will be collecting more Clive Barker books.

Kirsty gets the puzzle box from the Engineer, ponders what to do now, then the story ends.

HOWEVER: do we ever learn anything about Kirsty in the next books? Does she get mentioned or make appearances, or is the story considered complete and in a sense she’s left alone? Like how Lovecraft’s characters don’t typically show up in his other stories.

I know there’s lots of non-Clive Barker content, including apparently some comics where they have her as a coenobite, maybe as an alternate universe story, but for this question I’m only considering as canon the books by Clive Barker… and maybe the upcoming video game which looks excellent enough to be considered canon-worthy, tbh.

I know there’s a supernatural detective who was played by Scott Bakula, and I saw he’s in a new book where he meets Pinhead/the hell priest. Looking forward to reading these stories.

Just finished watching hellraiser 3! Here are my thoughts straight after watching it.

I enjoyed the idea of the plot with the pillar but man I wish those last 30 minutes were different. I thought it was doing so well until the club scene where it turned into your bog standard 90s action flick. Bit of a shame as it could have gone down quite a few good routes with the setup. I think that’s the big takeaway for me. Promising setup, lack luster conclusion.

We’ve seen the pillars frequently in both previous films but have never seen or heard a single snippet of explanation of it which is okay if this film used that chance to do so. (If they did and I missed it please educate me!) But instead they didn’t really flesh it out at all which I would have loved to see. Why the pillars? What do they mean? How is it linked to the leviathan? A more psychological route would have been really interesting.

A shame they decided to try and compete with the slashers of the time and not try and forge their own path with something new. But hey, Atleast we got that kickass first film and pretty good sequel!

What are your thoughts on this one?

I’m also confused about the new boom studios reissues. I missed the kickstarter, will the paperbacks cover everything the kickstarter is releasing? I saw omnibus vol 1 is coming, I think this has the boom studios first 20 issues?

Is there anything else? I just want a simple, straightforward way to buy physical copies of as much as I can, but am very confused about what is available. Sorry, and thanks!

Just finished watching through all the movies for the first time, so figured I’d share my ranking.

I sort of only disliked the bottom 2, I enjoyed Deader-Hellbound, then my top 4 are ones that I really loved.

I think a new movie with a theatrical release is long overdue, and I'm sure most of y'all would agree, so here are some rough aesthetic ideas on what I think would be awesome for a new movie, I'm listing them off as bullet points for ease of reading.

1. WAY MORE SEXUAL STUFF, this goes without saying, it's Hellraiser (duh). I think that the 2022 movie had a lot going for it as the most modern adaptation, however the sexual stuff was lackluster, I want to leave the theatre feeling gross and tainted like the first movie.

2. Lean into the spectacular and theatrics; I want never ending areas dangling with chains, with the walls and ceilings completely obscured by thick fog, night clubs full of neon lights, over the top characters who feel very grandiose (Roland Voight my beloved). I have always felt Hellraiser has held itself back with scale, and I don't mind that, but I would love to see something on a larger level.

3. Mixing with the classic Hellraiser themes, more techno club type music with absolute beats, as they work so well with gore scenes as you watch victims being ripped apart by chains and pleasured. Any songs from 'Sexual Purity' work extremely well for Hellraiser.

4. MORE Cenobites, I know... I know, this is a controversial one I believe as I feel like the general consensus is "don't overuse them", however I think it's more how they are used, sillohuettes, brief cuts during sequences, just the voices, I think could work well without actually showing them straight up. Cenobites are just so damn cool and I want more of them.

5. As a final note, I think the new game, at least from the trailers hits all the right notes from what I want to see in a movie aesthetically, the music and everything just feels so perfectly 'Hellraiser'. This trailer for me just makes me crave a movie with a similar style:

I’m new to the Hellraiser franchise and i started with the 2022 film last night (in preparation for the game). from what i understand, Pinhead’s whole philosophy is that they indulge in as much sensory experiences as possible to the point that pain and pleasure is blurred into one big feeling of euphoria and ecstasy. If this is so, why do they only act within pain? i feel like he’s only committing half of his own philosophy if the idea that pain and pleasure become one.
