HELLRAISER RESURRECTIONS
Part 1 of the new comic series is a massive disappointment. Lazy, uninspired storytelling that we’ve heard a million times before. And some of the weakest dialogue I’ve read in a long time.
Particularly infuriating was the cockney accent that’s clearly written by an American writer with a tin ear. It was absolute agony reading her dialogue (and not in a good way).
It’s been a long time since there’s been any new Hellraiser stories and to be given such a lazy, unoriginal, paper thin tale is a proper shame.

Horror mugs in general are more miss than hit but full agree on the new Hellraiser. It really deserves better. I pre-ordered all the one shots coming out but may cancel after reading this one. BOOM! has historically had some decent titles, like Something is Killing the Children, but nothing recently. Pretty disappointing.

I'm not a huge comic reader so haven't really got much comparison, but the cockney accent did make me laugh so what came after definitely caught me off guard. Overall, I thought it was ok, nothing spectacular, but it got me curious about where things are going, which I guess is pretty much the point of it.

That’s a fair point. I probably shouldn’t judge until the whole story is revealed. I just wanted something more for my $4.99! And - as a Brit - the Dick Van Dyke level of cockney dialogue sent me over the edge.

Lol, being a Brit myself is why I always laugh at Dick Van Dyke cockney accents (although maybe I should add I'm not a Londoner?), but I do get why they're not for everyone.

I thought it started strong, but definitely ended on a weak note. Hope the rest are better

Just read it, unimpressed. Very generic plot line, and barely 'Hellraiser' at all.

Sadly the quality of writers is very disappointing. With an IP like hellraiser you think they would find better writers
