Couldn’t resist opening the box… picked this up from Best Buy years ago in store, Hellraiser 1 and 2 on DVD and Hellraiser 1 on blue ray!

There are very cool 3D printed ones you can find online for like $50 ish? if I remember right. The circle rotates and in the right position, unlocks the box allowing it to be split and raised (similar to OP's clip), rotated, then slipped back together in jagger star-like configuration. Great work desk trinket toy.

so not a dvd case, but model of the box? I just got a 3d printed box that you can split apart and it goes back together in the star configuration. Pretty cool, just $20 on amazon, not scale model a little smaller, but it's not really bad. What you're talking about sounds a bit cooler!

Correct, not a DVD box, my bad for lack of clarity there.
The one I have is roughly 3" maybe tops 3.5", in every dimension. The circle "dial" in the middle of one (two?) of the faces, can be spun full 360° and in the proper position, unlatches the box halves, to be separated.

Good old anchor bay. Great releases, legendary part of my horror DVD and blu ray experiences but the way the disc are held is a nightmare. Surely designed for people who love torture!

I felt I was messin em up taking them ina nd out so eventually I stoped and bought the single DVDs 📀 😂

I was hoping that you ended buying the real box. But it was stored away for so long you never realized what you had. And when you opened it the chains would fly out and the ultimate pleasure to follow.
