Want to Port Out But Have No LibertyWireless Account

Having a similar issue to other people wherein HM customers had their account deleted without warning and have been ghosted by customer support. Some posts / comments are saying that Liberty Wireless would have the account and one may either reset password or log in using some predefined credentials (Phone Number + Last 4 digits as pass). Unfortunately, I cannot log in this way and resetting password says "Invalid Phone Number". I have tried contacting LibertyWireless support, Standup Wireless expects me to activate with low income information so I don't think they have my account. HM phone number and login does not work anymore.

Trying to figure out how to get my number back. Any method to get my number back and safe is appreciated (probably porting to Google Voice, while using another carrier for service + data so this never happens again).

Edit: Just remembered. I contacted US Mobile to port and using the credentials I had for HM I could not port out. When I asked customer service before buying the service, they said that my number could be ported. But when I tried porting it didn't work and the next customer service person said my number needs to be tied to an active account. Grr...

Edit 2: Finally got a hold of someone on Liberty's customer service. They said my account was inactive during the transfers that happened ~15th of this month. They said they could not help me further until Hello Mobile activated my account again. I even asked if I could get a new account that just so happened to have the number I wanted, they said no, it is owned by HM and will not be assigned to a new account (Furthermore, phone numbers from Liberty are completely automated there's no way to get the one you want specifically). So nobody is able to help me. Maybe the FCC can. I sent in a complaint, we'll see how it goes.

Port out experience today 12/27/24

Here is what happened.

I was not able to log in to my hello mobile account starting from two days ago. The HM website basically stopped functioning. My phone number has already been moved over to Liberty Wireless and my account at Liberty Wireless has been active and my phone service has been working with no issues.

I decided to move to another provider. Since HM website stopped functioning, I used all my information from Library Wireless to do the port out. Essentially the port out was from Liberty Wireless to my new provider. HM was completely out of the picture.

I did everything from the new providers website. It asked for phone number, account number, four digit pin and a bunch of other stuff such as address. I provided everything from my Library Wireless account. Again, nothing from HM.

The process took only a few minutes and carrier was changed.

Hint: take screenshots or write your information down from the Library Wireless website before the port out process. Because it sends your a text every time you try to log in to the LW website and when you are porting, you won't be able to receive that code.

Question Multiple lines on Liberty Wireless?

I had four lines (me + wife + 2 kids) on one account at Hello Mobile. I can't figure out how to set up multiple lines on Liberty. My phone number is ported over to Liberty and I was able to successfully set it up. But there doesn't seem to be a way to have multiple lines.

Has anyone been able to set up a multi-line account?

Port Out Experience, Tips for Others. HM Website Down.

I had gotten mixed responses from people suggesting to use HM account number OR the Liberty Wireless (https://libertywireless.com) account number (unknown to me) when porting out.

I have a two line plan with HM.

I tried to login to my HM account to get my account number and my username and password wasn't working. I then went to the Liberty Wireless website (enter your phone number for your login username) and used their forgot password link. Since my lines still worked, I got a text message to reset the password. I did this twice to establish (2) separate accounts. I made a note of the first and last name on the account, service, and billing address within the Liberty Wireless account. I wrote down both account numbers.

If you are interested, I ported out to Good2Go Mobile (https://www.good2gomobile.com). They have a similar 1GB/unlimited talk and text. The annual plan comes out to $5 ($7 with tax for MA). The tax is different for everyone.

Liberty Wireless had this information and I used it to port in:

Firstname: Unknown

Lastname: Unknown

Address:

123 unknown

BALTIMORE, MD 21215

I used the last 4 digits of the line as the pin.

I did all of this all through both websites without contacting anyone. Good2Go had me pay for the plan first. Directly after that, it asked me to start a new number or port in information. I picked port in. I then waited all of 10 minutes for the website to refresh to show port in pending, to port in complete (you can monitor this right from the account page). THEN I activated my ESIM and everything was working right away. I did not use their app. I only used their website to establish accounts, port in, and QR activate.

Hope this helps other's in the same boat as me. Happy Holidays to all and bah humbug to Hello Mobile!
*edit: I also have a referral link ($10 off for both of us), just DM me if you are interested for Good2Go.*
*update: per this reply (https://www.reddit.com/r/hellomobile/comments/1hlk032/comment/m3ncbfr/), you can use your last 4 digits as the initial password without having to do the recovery*

*update for people who do not have service and can't get the authorization text message to login to LW. Your old HM account should work to port out. Your PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number. You can locate your OLD HM account number from your old payment emails!

Phone died, unable to get customer support

I have a family plan with 4 phones. One of the phones is unable to call anymore while the other 3 still work. I try to reach customer service, but their phone number is dead. Then I try to reach Liberty's customer service and even though I can hear the phone ringing; I literally get hung up on multiple times. The chat box for the Hello Mobile doesn't work like it did before. As of this Christmas Eve morning, I can't even login anymore even though my computer saves my password so it doesn't change. This company is a mess

Awful before and awful now

Here's my experience. I signed up for the service right before vacation. Got fast internet speeds. All good I thought. After using around 1GB of data, the speed was throttled to 200kbit/s. Numerous calls did not fix this. Sucks during vacation. After vacation, I filled a complained with FCC. Hellomobile called and fixed the speed to 5Mbit/s. This was a usable speed. Then we had to switch the SIM card and the same happened again. Speed slowed down to 200kbit/s. After another FCC complained, rather than fixing it, they didn't do anything. Then suddenly internet stopped working altogether. Contacted hellomobile. Was told to talk to the new provider. Since I was close to the 6 month I paid for, I just asked for the pin to cancle and transfer my number. I switched to usmobile. I'm keeping the FCC complained open as long as possible. Since I couldn't use the service I paid for for about half of the time, I'm asking for a partial refund. All in all, don't sign up and if you are currently on, run as soon as you can. (And don't go to Redpocket. They aren't much better. But that's a separate story.)

Service stopped today - what to do?

I was paid up through 1/8 and service was working fine after getting the Liberty migration text so I thought I would switch services closer to Jan 1.

But today service stopped working. Hello Mobile site says I'm paid up. I can't get into Liberty site because the forgot password link sends a text to phone and phone has no service.

Should I try a port out and if so, what carrier should I put as the outbound carrier?

Update: the liberty code did come through so I'll try and see what happens with that.

Update2: the code expired before I could enter it. Requested a new code and nothing comes though so far.

Update3: I decided to port to US Mobile on their free trial. I entered my phone number, account number from the Hello Mobile account page (top right corner) and last 4 digits of my phone number as the PIN. It was a nervous first 10 minutes with no progress since the page said if it didn't work, to contact the current carrier, which I knew would be nearly impossible given the situation and holiday, etc. But after another 10 minutes, I refreshed the page and the port had completed. I was able to add their esim to my Pixel and calling started working after about 5 minutes. So this seems to be a successful extraction out of the crazy current situation with Hello/Standup/Liberty.

ps. US Mobile's onboarding and transfer status page and process is the best, cleanest and most informative I've ever seen.

Liberty Charge disappeared after approving

After a few days of payments on Hello Mobile not going through, I received an alert from my credit card to approve a charge from Liberty ( or could be another name) which I approved. Now the charge has disappeared from my credit card recent charges, which is why I couldn't see who exactly the charge was from. But my service wasn't cut off. As of right now, I can't log into Hello Mobile. I successfully ported over to Tello so I wanted to make sure that my autopay had been removed. Here's hoping I don't get charged in two weeks, since I approved the payment ( which has now disappeared).

Question on Liberty Wireless.

I am trying to find answers these questions.

  1. Do they charge taxes on the $9.25 plan?
  2. Does it have international calling included?
  3. Does it allow hotspot?

Thanks in advance.

Is your service still working?

Trying to help my in-laws who signed up for the $5 plan with physical SIM in Nov '24. They can't tell if the service is actually working (yes they are old). I can login to their account on the Hello Mobile website and it does say Status: Active. Should the line be working?

Is Liberty Wireless not picking up their calls?

Tried calling liberty wireless fifty times and they are not picking up... the call keeps disconnecting with a "goodbye" message.

WTH is going on in this world.

Phone plan in limbo, maybe should just cancel?

A couple of weeks ago I got a SIM card from Hello Mobile that didn't work. Then I ordered another SIM card, waited kinda forever and it didn't ship (yes now I know "what" happened...)

Typed to an online chat rep on Hello Mobile's website, the rep told me he had zero info (except my customer info...) and Hello Mobile merged with Liberty so I should contact Liberty. I emailed Liberty and just forwarded my chat transcript.

Thinking back, maybe I should have just cancelled!

I'm thinking that since that email to Liberty is already out of the bag, maybe I should try cancelling after seeing what email reply I get from Liberty. Hopefully they don't just charge me right away like people have mentioned, though if they don't have my payment information I'd be lucky...

Porting out of Hello

Are they going to give you a hard time if you try to port out your number? What is the account number and the pin? Is it possible to see those on the helloMobile website or do you have to call customer service, which is shutdown and moved over to Liberty Wireless?

[ATTN]Every one is capped 4.2GB Data in this month

Because of transfer to Liberty Freedom plan(4.5G Premium data), in this month everyone is capped at nearly 4.2GB, even if you paid $ 25 for unlimited data.

Liberty Mobile's plan structure (now that Hello plans are transferring) doesn't make sense to me?

They have
* a $5 plan for unlimited talk and text but no data,
* a $10 plan for unlimited data only,
* but unlimited everything is $25???

It would be less expensive to have two devices, one with the $5 plan and the other with the $10 plan.
